Second word narrowed the field to 3 words. I found MIMIC and MUSIC. No idea what the third word was. I didn’t look too hard.

MUSIC
A super quick birdie. I might have opted for MUSIC at two had I taken a little more time to ponder. But SUITE wasn’t necessarily a bad guess, just not the right one, so I don’t feel too bad about it.

I really don’t understand the NYT stats and ratings.
Copied and pasted from WordleBot page:
Your Ratings for Wordle No. 820
Based on my analysis of 78,534 hard mode Wordles.
SKILL: YOU 88 Out of 99, NYT AVG. 89
LUCK: YOU 55 Out of 99, NYT AVG. 59
STEPS: YOU 3 NYT AVG. 3.5
So if I got the solution in 3 steps and the NYT average was 3.5, why are my skills and luck ratings lower than the NYT average? It doesn’t make sense to me. As I’ve said before, I should stop caring what WordleBot says!

A quality 3 here. Started immediately guessing for the win after 1, with my mind immediately going to “trust the B!” But then I remembered G before B, but grand has already been an answer. And then after 2 I had already eliminated P and D, leaving frank as the (I think) only answer.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that crank has already been an answer as well.

A double-dose of luck helped me save par today. I missed seeing the -ND words (BRAND and GRAND), so I was lucky the K came up. Then I won the coin flip between FRANK and DRANK. I’ll take it!

MUSIC → Second day in a row I’ve whiffed on the opener. I swear sometimes this game is out to get me
TEARY → O is still out there, but that middle A looks like it could be all the vowels we have. I kept trying to get both L and N in there, but gave up and went with
GRAND → About all that goes after that N is a K, which gives two options, PRANK and
FRANK
Glad I grew up reading the Hardy Boys rather than The Compleat Practical Joker.
