I started with what is a two word opener to me. It gave me a lot so did not use the second word. Wordlebot said there we only 3 other words to choose . I did not see any of them and they were much more common.
Man, I pooched this one. It’s embarrassing to post, but here it is:
Wordle 666 5/6*
IRATE
SPENT
CLEFT
ELECT
DWELT
Derp-da-derp-da-derp. My fourth try was a total waste, and DWELT was the only answer after CLEFT, as WordleBot sniffily pointed out. Ugh.
Wordle 666 4/6
ARISE
MELON
CLEFT
DWELT
Broke up my four streak with a five yesterday, so I guess falling back into the rut counts as an improvement. Only one possibility left after CLEFT, but damned if I could find it in any reasonable amount of time.
Wordle 666 4/6
PASTE
TONER
DEBIT
DWELT
A rather uncommon word. I had it on my list but felt Debit was more likely, along with 8 other more likely words that are actually used by the current modern population.
Yes, an word today. Where is Josh Wardle when we need him??!!
Wordle 666 5/6* 4/16/2023
AGONY → Second straight day for a first guess strikeout. Ok, moving on…
HEIST → That is a little more like it. Where does the E go?
ERUPT → Not there. And no more letter pickups. All out of vowels. Is there a double E? Guessing for one would at least place a lone E…
FLEET → And there it is. Also, an L. L?E?T, with neither question mark a vowel? Or ??ELT, hmmm…
DWELT
There were so few letters left.
Wordle 666 4/6*
SCORE
METAL
TILED
DWELT
I didn’t think that TILED was a likely answer, but it was a lucky guess. Also it felt odd to have no greens at all until the final guess.
And an 1843 song featuring the word in its title, recorded by a well known artist in the 1990s: Enya: I Dreamt I Dwelt in Marble Halls - YouTube
The song has its own Wiki page: I Dreamt I Dwelt in Marble Halls - Wikipedia

Well, that one had me on the ropes a fair bit…
Scoredle claims that the third possibility for the final guess besides WHIZZ and WHIFF was… XVIII? Seriously? That’s supposed to be a valid word?

Heh. When I was a kid, I read a book that contained the following:
Knock-Knock!
Who’s there?
I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls.
“I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls,” who?
I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls, Kowalski.
Be that as it may,

PICKY — only 1 yellow, no greens
BOUGH — only 2 yellows, no greens.
I’m starting to worry. I might to do an X/6 today.
I think it has to have WHI in it, and if that’s true then it can only be 1 word…

Though I was skeptical that WHINY had somehow been the right one, I was totally convinced that WHICH was the right word…until it wasn’t. Argh!

Glad to get this in 4, no way I was going to get it in 3 or less. The hard part was finding a word that worked at all after my third guess, given the handful of letters I had left (consonants B,F,G,H,J,K,V,W,X,Z; vowels I,O).

SPORT - . . .and there goes the last one
WHINY - leaves ‘which’ or ‘whiff’
WHIFF - decided not to go with double ‘h’
