I almost didnβt try a U at two in favor of consonants. Iβm glad I gave in to my vowel obsession!
SCANT β Apt word. OK, I need to try two more comcons, and two vowels - O & E are probably the best bets. Or I. Naw, O.
LONER β Maybe I should have tried I. Hmmm, LEN?? or L?N?E is a tough choice. Iβm not seeing anything with the former, oddly enough. I is still not helping, so perhaps a U? Hmmmβ¦
LUNGE
Rather a lucky second guess - Scoredle called for LINEN which would have ended up in the same place in the event, and was probably better for other possible words. Plus, the double-up on found letters effect againβ¦

The only other possibility at 3 was the verb CALVE, which seemed iffy as a solution, so CABLE it was. At 2, I was tempted to try LARCH, but that would have additionally opened up CAMEL, CABAL, and CAVIL as solutions (CAULK was already used) so Iβm glad I resisted the temptation.
At long last, I have more 3s than 4s. (Of course, I still have way more 5s and 6s than 2s, not to mention my two losses.) Still, itβs a nice benchmark.

LUNGE β Good start. Lots of possibles with an -LE finish, so Iβll give that a try. Picked the first word that came to find and got
SIDLE β Which seems a little trappish. When I thought about it a little more, I realized I should have gone with STALE. Oh well. I thought about TROLE for a brief second to KO the R, but of course thatβs no letter, so I went with
TABLE β Which led directly to a word of thanks for trusting the B, and
CABLE
GABLE was eliminated by my first guess, fortunately. Also, I completely missed thinking about Aesop, so a five was definitely possible. Plus, kinda like that build-from-the-end pattern.

I got lucky twice: once with a fortunate second word, and then with the spin of the CABLE/GABLE/FABLE wheel. Iβll take it!
