Today I lost my 110 game streak. I still had 3 guesses left to go. If going the hard route, you had to be lucky if you end up where I was. According to Wordlebot, only 79% of folks are getting this one in 6. I think this is the biggest streakbuster I’ve seen. With 7 “ound” words, that makes sense.

You are correct. I forgot of the only one I actually eliminated in my first guess. Each time this last 5 word combo comes up I can expect to have my streak broken.

After guess 2, I figured it was probably an -OUND word. And here’s where I cheated, according to some: I ran the 7 available -OUND words through the list of past Wordle answers. (Hey, I already play in Hard Mode. Let’s not make things even more impossible!) From that, I learned that 3 of the words had already been played. I picked HOUND first from the remaining 4 because I learned yesterday that the new puppy I’m getting will be born in mid-May – very exciting! And a new HOUND turned out to be a good Wordle word today, too. :slight_smile:

HORNY seemed unlikely but after all it does have non-sexual/slang uses, too–and I was stuck for a word that had O in second position and N in fourth. And of course it had the virtue of letting me avoid the _OUND trap.

Awww, thanks. :slight_smile: It is exciting! A mini dachshund. One of my favorite breeds, and about what I feel up to handling these days. My German shepherd and Border collie days are over, I think.

Thanks to the past answers list I knew that FOUND and POUND weren’t options. Still lucky that I didn’t go with WOUND before HOUND! And yes WordleBot was x/6, as well as 24% of hard mode players–that’s 1/4, no wonder we have so many broken streaks today.

I only just learned recently that they come in mini size, and was surprised because they already are small - lol…I bet they are super cute. I get it…have always had herding breeds, and we just adopted a GSD/BC mix last summer, though she is the most chill dog I’ve ever had. Have fun with your new puppy!
