LUNCH → OK, really need to check two vowels here, and another comcon.
SNAIL → Again with the slow start! I was thinking for a long time here about ways to test both E & O, and try to shoehorn in a T or R. Totally fruitless. After I had spent too much time on those possible words, I decided to just try the first think that came to mind with either O or E and came up with

BLOND → Got one vowel out of one. If I go for R & S, would I rather try a T or an E? I’ll try the E, cover the vowels
ROUSE → Maybe I should have tried the T. OK, try the R in 4th, followed by the T, looks like

I was once roused to court a blond. Scoredle’s second guess preference was TORUS where my alternative would have been ROUST, so I guess our thinking wasn’t that far apart there even though I tried a different path.
Looked to see what your starting word was, and I realized it was a permutation of a more frequent starting word - and a few other words as well. SLATE, STALE, STEAL, SALET, LEAST, TALES. Am I missing any?

Lots of twos and even a one today, so I guess mine is not really that impressive…
It looks like you got most of them. I started using LEAST because SLATE is on the used word list.
Figured there’d be a few 2s today. 
And mine’s one of 'em!

WordleBot chalked it all up to luck, which I suppose it was.
I was glad to play today at all – no power from 2:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. today, and I can’t yet get out of my property to play at the local internet cafe. If the power outage had lasted longer, poof would have gone my current streak of 488 consecutive games. So the power coming back on… that was lucky!
