Stupid mistake putting the A back in the wrong spot. I was playing too fast; a little more thought would likely have saved par.

WordleBot gave me an 86, below the NYT average of 89,even though I carefully and cleverly (IMHO, at least!) eliminated both the TH and TY endings with one word. That left only PASTA as the answer. I think WordleBot is full of… well, not PASTA!

And again a low rating for skill, 82 (the NYT average was 89) even though I got it in 3 and the NYT average was 3.6. I have to stop looking at these ratings!

PASTA → At least I know there’s not a second A. I played around with an E and two more comcons here and hit on
SERAL → which was pretty awesome, because STRAW was out, and SYRAH seemed too proper-nouny, and that P from my first play eliminated SCRAP, so

SCORE would be a great word to have for Valentine’s Day tomorrow, I’d have to say. Let’s see if we can make that happen, NYT!?!

After 2 the first thing I saw was scrap but I’d already ruled out p, then immediately saw scram as an alternative. But I didn’t think that would be an answer so I buckled in for another day of coming up with a bunch of possibilities. All day long I never saw a single other potential answer. Now with only a couple hours left before midnight I figured I might as well give it a shot. Talk about overthinking.
