SCRAM β That was little less than I expected. Three comcons and an E can maybe pick up something
LEANT β Quite a bit, actually. Move A up again to second, T to start and N to end, then add in an O and get
TALON
That was over considerably faster than I thought it would be. My second guess was apparently a very bad one, except that it left exactly one possible word remaining so⦠high luck rating?

Always happy with a birdie, but this should have been a deuce. My eye landed on the unused I when I looked at the keyboard. If Iβd looked down to the second row, I would have realized A was a better vowel, And TALON, with the T plus two more commons, would almost certainly have been my word of choice.
I gotta start slowing it down.

Woo-hoo! I started to go with TALLY, but thought better of the double L to test more letters.

I started to go with TALLY for the 2nd guess but thought Iβd try for more letters. When TALON came up, I realized that it should have been my 2nd guess.

Had a shot at the 2, but had to settle for the 3. After my opening word, there were only four possible solutions I could find - KARST, ASCOT, WAIST, and ASSET - and ASSET had already been used. I think KARST is on the obscure side if youβre not a caver (as I used to be) or a geologist, and I liked WAIST a lot better of the remaining two, but turned out it was ASCOT after all. Bet that was a Wardle original, ascots are definitely more of a Brit than a U.S. thing.
