WORLD - Really lucky guess
GROWL - Pounced on the first word I thought of instead of looking through the alphabet
PROWL
CRAFT → Well, that’s something good to build on. I feel a little vowel-light, so I’ll try three with a comcon
IRONY → And direct hit on one. Still have comcons left, and an E, so I can burn them both with
PROSE → and it turns out it hits on the P. Sometimes you just have to shake your head. U is still hanging around, so I’ll try
PROUD → At this point, SunSon looked over my shoulder and said, "Hey Dad, maybe you should try
PROWL
So an assist to my offspring. I’d have been looking for something with an L anyway, but once he saw that, I was hooked. Scoredle solves in three, believe it or not, guessing my third and fifth guesses for its second and third, respectively. I don’t know if a web page can really look smug, but I’m getting that vibe from it.

Wow. That was hard chasing that L all over the place!
It really gave you L, didn’t it?
I’ll take this 4 today, yes, I will! (Like I have a choice.)

So I’ve been waiting for wordle 1047 to finally log in / create a user account that hopefully keeps my stats. I feel like it’s going to reset them, but I figured I’d wait till an even 100 games since my 700th game was #947.
Except it wasn’t #947. It was #921. I posted my totals in a post that ended in post number 47.
I say again: Doh!
Ah well. Looks like I’ll finally log in tomorrow and see if my stats reset or not. I’m almost positive they will.

This one actually was kind of fun. I had to try out some less common letter combinations.

PROWL → Slow start. I’d be tempted to go PARER here to try to find the R, just to be contrary. But, I’ll go with my usual strategy of comcons plus vowels - two of the latter, cause I only eliminated one with that first guess
RISEN → Good thing I didn’t try RESIN (which is to RISEN as SLATE is to STALE, now that I think of it). Where should the R go? Still have T to check, as well as A, but I can’t see one that does both, so I’ll check Y instead
DIRTY → Ah, should have checked A and Y…
DIARY
The quest for the R made that a little frustrating. Scoredle also takes 4 from PROWL; but through a very different path.
