That took forever. I could not come up with a word. I even went to my cheat and tried an anagram finder but it only listed words starting with A or B and I didn’t think ACERB would be the answer. So back to staring and trying out all the words ending in RA until it finally clicked.

Holy tough one, Batman! I didn’t love freak as an answer but I kept seeing possibility after possibility but they’ve all been used before. So I went with it and still no greens. Yikes. A lotta staring was involved before coming up with zebra.

DROVE → Ok, about what I expected, maybe a little better. I’d like to try an A here, but I’ve only tried one WoFcon so far, and I can only see words with one more… except for, perhaps, EARLS. Which leads me to another possibility…
EARTH → EARLS probably wouldn’t have made much difference. I"ll keep those letters together and try them in another place…
SPEAR → This is getting frustrating, but at least I’m narrowing things down via the process of elimination. OK, I see one word that will definitely place that R…
REARM → and the E too. And that A pretty much has to go at the end. ?E?RA, both unknowns must be new letters. I sat on this for a while, trying letters, until I thought about the B in the middle and it came right to me

Scoredle does better from my start than from its own SLATE; it places the R with RARER on the second guess, then picks up the unplaced A next which gets it to where I was after four in three guesses. On the plus side, it picks REARM in the same place I did so at least I had a good play in the endgame.
