I remember just recently blanking on my first two words and coming up with a sleuth word, so I searched the thread for my posts containing the word score. It was June 30th, and the answer then was buddy.
So when drift came back how it did, I had trouble remembering what word that identified. I was like, jiffy? No, it can’t be jiffy, can it? Turns out, yes it can.

I don’t normally play this close to midnight, so when at 12:02am, I started seeing yet a third row of black squares, I was wondering if I’d fallen in some brief gap in between one day’s solution and the next. So I was quite relieved to see that last letter in my third word turn green.
Saw FIZZY, then JIFFY, preferred the former, lost the coin toss. Can’t say I feel too bad about the 5.

I was definitely feeling the heat after IMPLY yielded nothing but the location of the I, and DIZZY was a long shot. So I picked SHACK as a sleuth word, hoping that ONE of those four letters would appear. No joy, so I found JIFFY and rolled the dice.

CAMEO → Hmm. Three vowels down. I can try two more, and three WoFcons with them, via
RUINS → I, not in the center. Is there a Y too? If there is… ?I??Y has trap written all over it. I would like to try as many consonants as I can here, but definitely T and L (?ILLY/?ITTY) but I don’t have another letter to go with them. So I’ll try
TILLY → which was useless. I can try DIVVY or the ?IDDY words with
DIZZY → Nowhere. What’s left? Two guesses left, It’s looking iffy… wait a minute

So that was a near-disaster. Scoredle actually misses from CAMEO, losing a coin toss with FIZZY at the end. I had 14 to choose from on the fifth guess, and really very little idea of which ones are bogus and which aren’t.

A damn tough one to make up for yesterday’s easy deuce. At least I wasn’t the only one who had trouble with this one.
I smelled the _I__Y trap after two, and came up with what I thought was a decent sleuth word, but it wasn’t much help.
By five, I was down to JIFFY, FIZZY, and FIGGY. (If JIGGY or WIGGY are ever answers, god help us all.)
I guessed that JIFFY was the most likely solution, but if it wasn’t, I was leaving myself open for the fail. So I bit the bullet and made sure my streak lived to see another day. (Sorry, @Chefguy.)
