Full disclosure: I accidentally saw the solution in the thread (wasn’t careful about clicking on spoilers). But, out of an adundance of integrity, I played it as I would have

OUNCE → I think this is our fourth day in a row with a C! Nice streak for me. OK, try an A and a couple of WoFcons
CLEAT → Whiff. And nothing placed, either. I thought about RICES here but settled on
DICER → So that D was nice, but I still haven’t placed anything! I sort of noodled around for a a couple minutes, then got serious and tried E in second, -IC ending, put D in between and it looks like
MEDIC
Much like Ellis_Dee, no greens until the last guess. Scoredle also finishes in 4 from OUNCE. My third guess was quite lucky; it went from about nine non-bogus guesses to one-and-only-one possibility left. One of the rather bogus guesses I could have tried there was XEBEC, a word I’ve only heard in an Aubrey-Maturin context.

I played this one quickly and without much thought; otherwise I might have brought the E in earlier. But I had a feeling about CIVIL for some reason. At least it led me to a par.

MEDIC → Streak of C words now up to five. More good news for me as I get a “free” non-WoFcon with the first word. I’ll try two of 'em with an A to boot
LANCE → No -CE ending? At least I placed the E. I’ll try an S here, which makes me have to choose between a second E or an O. I’ll try the latter, given the British origins of the puzzle
SCONE
Scoredle uses its second guess to try to place the C, and figures enough to get it with the third, but still takes one more to finish. So pretty cool? I’ve liked our streak of the past week or so.
