LEECH → OK, not bad, let’s try an A with two WoFcons
STEAL → But I knew the E wasn’t there! Doh! Ah, well. Try an I for the second vowel this time.
TILED → Well, that makes it easy.
FILET
ALLEY was Scoredle’s second guess, which I think is brilliant, but leaves it with too many possibilities for a legit shot at a three, but it does equal my par in the end. Oddly enough, Scoredle’s my recommendation for the third guess is the answer, so the right combination of me + Scoredle could have made a birdie.

After two, I sat on this for hours because I just didn’t like any of the possible answers (LEECH, LEFTY, LEGGY) and kept hoping I’d see something better. Finally had to play something, and there it was!

Looks like I haven’t posted yet today! Thought for sure I had done that this morning. Anyway, I did today’s Wordle exactly the same as Ellis, aside from the one-letter difference in our starting words:

GUILT
FILET
After my starting word, the only words I could see were GUILT and BUILT, and the latter had been used. Turns out there were more words out there of course, but not that many really. After 2, besides the solution, LIMIT and PILOT had been used, leaving only longshots like LICIT and RELIT, so it was an easy choice.

Dang. SKATE was my first thought, and I changed my mind.

FILET → Phone home! A and two more WoFcons, stat!
TEARS → A trap in the making… but which? S?ATE or STA?E?
STALE → Wanted to see if SLATE starters all had an instant two; was slightly disappointed
SPATE → Trusted the P - and it didn’t work out - only one left
SKATE
TASTE is Scoredle’s second word, which gives it a nice tap-in for birdie. Faced with the same two-word choice for par, I rimmed out for a bogey. Still a fun puzzle, trying to dope out the best shot at the double-trap in the making after two.

SPATE - Rats.
