READY (time for a vowel hunt)
ODUIM (that was productive. And only so many words that use D, O, and U. At least with the U in that position.)
CLOUD (Ta-da!)
Can you unpack that for me, please? Whence the annoyance?

Glad to get a 4, I certainly wasnβt going to get this one any sooner. Not only did I draw a blank with my starting word, but my two yellows on 2 were both vowels. So I went with my fallback of DUMPY on 3 which did the trick.

I honestly thought this was going to be a fail after the second word gave me nothing.
CLOUD β Three straight with a D. Feel like I should pair with the O, then the rest can be an E and two of four WoFcons left
NODES β Now what. MODEL/YODELβs out. I feel like this isnβt my first RODEO, which AFAICT leaves only
MODEM
My aversion to repeat letters on the third guess might have sunk me, but the only two real options both had the repeats. Scordle doubles up to place the D and comes so close with its third guess, finishing with a par.

Not wanting to speak for @EllisDee , but:
My usual pattern is to try to guess all the Wheel Of Fortune consonants (L, N, R, S, T) within my first couple of guesses. If I was looking at a placed L and nothing else after PLANT, I might want to try both S and R, along with the next two common vowels, O & E. Which, in this case, means SLORE would be my perfect word - only itβs not a word. (If the L had been unplaced, LOSER would be the next guess.)
So Iβd have to compromise by mixing in a different consonant, which can create some annoyance at not being able to execute my plan the way I want to. But in the event, that C turned out to be the best of all possible guesses.

READY (explore the probability that thereβs more than one vowel)
GEOID (So far, so good. Using four untried consonants, find a word with no hits)
BLIMP (One hit. The ideal outcome! The only possible word is MODEM)

I saw several possibilities after 2 so this was definitely lucky.
@SunUp explained it exactly right. Just annoyed having to not check one of my preferred letters and instead waste a letter on a crappy C. But then of course the C turned out to be a nice find.
Originally that was my follow-up to a yellow L, but I like to try and keep my wordle guesses clean and positive, so pretty quickly I switched it from loser to roles.
