Wordle 1,201 3/6
IDEAL
WHUMP
SHELL
Almost a deuce. It pretty much had to be a double L, and I spotted SHELL right away, but then I saw SWELL, SMELL, SPELL, and QUELL, so I figured a sleuth word was in order. Not mad.

While I was trying to decide which word to go with on 2, my wife mentioned that she’d solved it in 2, which definitely affected my play, knowing that her starting word is almost always SMILE. Since you can’t un-know things, I don’t know for sure what I’d have done on 2 if she hadn’t said that, but my best guess is I’d have gone with SHILL, which would have also resulted in a 3. Anyway, it is what it is.

READY (My standard vowel hunting word in this circumstance)
LOUIE (No vowels, but I caught a consonant. Now let’s see if there are two Es)
SLEET (Nope, but that S suggests I’m looking for SHELL, SMELL, or SWELL)
WHOMP (Okay, it’s SHELL)
SHELL (for the bogey)
MODEM → I was hoping for DUMMY. Ah well Time for a good first guess second
LEAST → And, not bad. If I try the E in the middle, S first, S?EL? could be
SHELF → but it’s not. Very close though
SHELL
Could have well been a five if I hadn’t hit the second letter, and fell into the trap. My aversion to doubling up early costs me here. Scoredle repeats the initially found letter, but ends up with the same par.

A bit of luck after yesterday’s six.
SHELL → Whiff. Two WoFcons down, so I’ll try a vowel-heavy word
RAYON → …and that’s a trap. Last WoFcon still out there, and I’ll trust the B for
BATON → No luck. Repeated N?
CANON → Nope. Scan list of letters for what’s left…
WAGON
Turns out my fourth guess was darn near the best I could have done there, so I was pretty fortunate. Scoredle also finishes in five, but doesn’t hit the trap the same way I did until it was almost over anyway.
