BESET => Lucky! Good thing I didn’t see GUEST or QUEST.
ETA: I was amused to see POSET in Scoredle’s list of possible solutions after my second guess. It’s a shorthand math term for “partially ordered set” such as the set of subsets of the factors of an integer, and is a familiar thing to those of us who studied discrete mathematics.
Deuce!

The wordle analyzer is showing the AI play through as
SOARE
JESUS
BESET
for today. Does that mean we can use proper nouns for guesses?? It never even occurred to me to try.
Wordle 648 4/6*
It’s always fun when all of the vowels are burned up in the first two guesses, leaving one single vowel–by that point some common consonants have been eliminated too.

I have seen proper names in the valid guess list. I think the one I saw was Diane.
Diane? That’s just wrong.
And then SEDES, I never heard of that.
I can’t guarantee that’s the one I saw, but it was absolutely like that. When analyzing the lists I have always done my best to avoid looking at either of them, but I do have to spot check here and there to make sure the program works correctly, y’know?
And just to be clear I’m 99% sure it was the big 13,000 word guess list, not the answer list where I saw the proper name.
Thanks! Good to know.
Back in the four rut.

Thought I had it at four. BESET is not a word that readily comes to mind.
HURRY → Ooooohkay. Moving on…
TONED → Lucky hit on the E. But that T could go just about anywhere…
LATEX → Not there. And no A, either. Should I check an I? Perhaps double E instead…
STEEP → Good call on the double E! T is last, so ES?ET (nada), E?SET (nada), but ?ESET could be…
BESET
I appear to be in a five-rut, after playing much better on my phone during my trip…

BESOT
BESET
Got lucky with my start word. I had Besot, Beset, or Reset, and any of those three words would tell me what it was if incorrect, so it just was a roll of the dice - unfortunately I rolled wrong for a 2, but nice to get a 3.
This doesn’t spoil anything for today’s game (#648)
A long time ago when I was gathering past words, I saw Harry and Bobby that were removed, but don’t recall ever seeing Diane…then again, I stopped looking when I thought I was close to getting caught up to current dates, as I didn’t want to get spoiled.
Scootch over, please.

I went and checked out the guess list, I had never looked at it before. There are a lot of words on there that are also used as names such as patty, cliff, ralph etc., but I also saw jesus, diane and henry I had no clue that those are common words too. There’s likely even more, I just did a quick scan.

Don’t really know how I got the first letter. The word does not come to mind but I had been throwing random letters out. so I’ll take it.
