Add me to the ‘RAVEN before RAMEN’ group. And dammit, I played this way better than a 4. My second word was a great choice - the only other possibilities it left were RADON and RAYON, neither of which I thought was at all likely. So pffft.

CLEAN → No luck, but placed the N, so that’s good. Maybe I can try two Rs?
RERAN → And I got so excited about finding a word with two Rs that I made a horrible misplay. E and A should have been switched, then I couldn’t have used two Rs, but… faugh…

Catching the M right away eliminated RAVEN for me, then I chose a fortunate second word.
NAMED and ENEMA were my other possibilities. I don’t think they use -ED endings, and ENEMA is somewhat off-putting, so it wasn’t hard to pick the right one.
