CLASH → Whiff. Last three WoFcons plus O & E, shake up and find a really weird word
RONTE → Oh, duh, should have been TENOR. Not much out of it, except for eliminations. Looks like this may be a Y-terminal word, so I’ll try to place the E - maybe in second if there’s a double letter, but I need to try a lot of consonants
WEDGY → Good call on the W! and the D is implicitly placed too, so there was a double letter, just a vowel instead
WEEDY
Words with no WoFcon scare me; I find them harder to visualize. Scoredle, less obsessed about WoFcons, gets a better second guess, also finishes with par.

Wow. Spent ages after the first guess trying to think of a word that would
eliminate more vowels.. but couldn’t find one, so i reluctantly settled on
MUDDY. Very lucky.

Not often does one start the game with 10 blank squares.
There were lots of _U__Y possibilities left. I think I did well to find a word that eliminated most of them to save par, though I did get a bit lucky that it wasn’t GUMMY or YUMMY.

Not bad, considering I got blanked on my first two guesses. Fortunately #3 was close enough that #4 was a tap-in for the par.
LOUIS is a valid guess that hits the three vowels not in your starting word, and picks off a couple of WofCons to boot.
Yesterday’s (1408):
SLANT
BLASE
CLASP
CLASH
Bad second guess - it’s what I get for trying to solve it in the middle of the night.

I play in hard mode, so it’d have to have a D in it.

I’ve never had both opening words reveal nada.
WEEDY → The second E is a waste but the D is a nice pickup, and a placed terminal Y is nice to see. Really need good luck with vowels here
DIARY → And I have none, though the placed D is nice. A lot of optionss here have double letters before the Y; I tried to find one that didn’t
DUCHY → with no success. DUSKY and DUSTY were both out there still; I saw neither. I should have tried one before trying
DULLY → which I guessed due to my WoFcon obsession, which led me immediately to
DUMMY
A 1-in-4 chance of a loss after the third guess due to a serious misplay? I guess I’ll take the bogey. Scoredle was much more methodical, also with a 5 but would have finished with a solve even in the worst case.
