Scoredle shows 38 possibles after the second guess, but most of them are plurals or verbs. Throw them out, and my guess guaranteed a par - which is why Scoredle suggests it, as well. Scoredle’s own solution from my start goes a bit into the weeds and ends up with a bogey.
