PREEN → Let’s try A & I and two of the remaining three WoFcons, along with that terminal M that constrains us, so
STAIN → Two spots for that A. I was thinking about it in second (along with an L, but LAPIN was already out) and then SunSon looked over my shoulder and said

Scoredle also gets a birdie, but has a much luckier chip-in; with at least seven nonbogus answers, it goes right to the correct one.
Someone who submits “PURTY” as a real word has a lot of nerve complaining about “real words” (although I find myself also giving a side-eye to the app that accepts it as an entry).
I was sure it was not going to accept it!, I was only jokingly submitting it! I’m ashamed! I’m not worthy! not worthy!
Absolution granted.
The Scoredle app accepts it as a guess because it is on Josh Wardle’s list of 14,855 words that are acceptable as guesses. It’s not the app’s fault - blame it on Wardle!
‘Purty’ is Southern/rural slang, meaning ‘pretty’ of course. As such, I’d say it’s more of a ‘real’ word than ‘admin’ which AFAICT hardly ever shows up in print. Not only is the latter an abbreviation or shorthand or whatever, it’s largely a spoken one at that, at least IME.

I got so stuck that I actually stepped away and came back a few hours later. Didn’t help. I stared and stared until I finally spotted the “No, that can’t actually be a word” word.
The only other legit possibility was AGAIN, which I definitely would have put in had I seen it first, so good thing I didn’t.

Only one word left to choose, so Wordlebot said!
ADMIN → Well, that’s something. A good first guess second, coming up
STARE → That was… really good. One WoFcon left - an L - and to exercise it I’ll need to double up on the E, which seems appropriate
LEASE → Ah, so close. Unless it’s PEASE (as in porridge hot…)

Scoredle does give my alternate final guess as a possible, but c’mon! It doubles up on the one letter present on its second guess, and ends up with a 50-50 for par (which it sinks).
