I don’t use the previous answer list, but my memory said that SANDY has been used before. Nevertheless, I looked and looked and looked and could find nothing else, so reluctantly, I went with it. My brain overlooked both the AU combo and the second A.

PLANT
ARENA
SAUNA
Again with the deja vu. I had the same results from plant as when it was hyena a couple weeks ago, so went with the same “arena” I came up with then for the second guess. Got lucky it wasn’t fauna.
BRAWN → I got one word stuck in my brain and tried it, even though (as I noticed when the letters were flipping) it duplicated a letter that was already out
SONAR → HItting the S here was nice, as it left just three patterns left: SN??A, SA?N?, S??NA. First word I saw was of the second pattern, so
SAINT → And I was mite bewildered until I saw one word that fit both the second and third patterns
SAUNA
NANNY is Scoredle’s second guess, going all-out to place a letter. It’s next two guesses are the same as mine, so it also finishes with a par. It turns out my lousy second guess ended up very lucky, as the two nonbogus words left were my two next guesses.

I just plain didn’t see the solution as a possibility until after 4. After 2, I saw FABLE, GABLE, LADLE, and VALVE in addition to a number of previously used words. Either FABLE or GABLE at 3 would get me a 4 if the solution was in that group. If I’d gone with the latter, it would have gotten me a 4 anyway. Such is life.

SAUNA → One and only one A, so that’s something. My usual move here is to go three WoFcons and an E, and why not go with that?
TARES → That’s why not. Whiffed on the WoFcons. That E pretty much has to be at the end, since it’s not in 4th it’s not EAGER. Had trouble of thinking of words with L here (Hello, LADLE!) and went with
CACHE → Which was of no help, other than certainly resolving that E’s position. CANOE is gone too but I can slip in a U with
VAGUE → and now I see it
EAGLE
Second word in a row with three vowels, split between a pair and another one. Scoredle has fits with this one; a six from its own start and from my start, and after my second guess, it loses on a 50/50 chance on the sixth guess. Maybe my second guess was pretty lousy? Dunno.

I really thought I had the deuce after a very fortunate start word. Re-using an already-placed letter is a big blind spot for me.
But even if I’d seen EAGLE at two, it still would have been a coin flip, so I’m good with the birdie.
That’s what I get for staying up late to Wordle. Thanks.
