TUBER → Not a consonant to be seen. I guess I need to concentrate on them for the foreseeable future… hard to put all three WoFcons together here, though, so I’ll work through them the best I can
FLUME → Not L, or either of the others, so not LOUSE either. Which made me try to figure out how to use an S in case of SOUSE/HOUSE, so I also thought of PAUSE and
CAUSE → Hitting the A was good, but no S? So then I surveyed the letters again and thought about G
GAUGE
GAUZE was another possible, but I was looking for the fourth letter first, so I didn’t see it until later. Scoredle knows better than me to stop looking for vowels, but also makes a par due to the abundance of other options.

Lots and lots of black squares in my first three guesses, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
I thought I’d saved par, but no such luck. A repeated letter gets me again!

For some reason after 3 I thought I had a 50/50 chance between plumb or plume. It wasn’t until both of those missed that I thought of plump. ![]()
Also Wordlebot again: there were three words left after my third guess. It gave me 99 skill on all my remaining guesses. Its comment on my fourth guess was “Excellent choice! You’ve narrowed it down to two words.” Yeah, well, plumb would have done that too. If I had played beeps or bumps that would have narrowed it down to one word and I coild have got it in 5. But I guess it’s more skillful to just keep guessing. ![]()

GAUGE → Huh. Middle U carried over. And… uh oh, could this be the ?OUND trap? If it is, I can give myself a fighting chance with three of BFHMPRSW (and KO three WoFcons) with
SPURT → Maybe it is POUND. Worth a shot
POUND → Nope. But the P is placed. Only I and Y are left of the vowels, so I’ll focus on consonants the rest of the way
PLUCK → Good luck with the WoFcon. How many words can be left? I can think of one
PLUMB → Ah, a consonant repeat
PLUMP
Paranoia about a potential trap might have stunted my shot at par, but I’ll take it any day. Ironically, Scoredle would have made a birdie had it made its guess in place of my third guess. On its own, Scoredle takes a bogey, which seems odd when I’ve placed the middle letter from the beginning, and it has it right after my second guess.

SLATE
BLIND
GLOOM
PLUMP
Among the first 19 fitting words I thought of after Clue 1, one was not a Wordle word
(“bling”, a shortened form of the uncountable slang noun “bling bling”), and
17 of the remaining 18 were already-used. Only BLIND was left. It didn’t seem like
a very good “sleuth word” but maybe I’d score a Two!! No. Ugh.
Instead of “sleuthing” I just kept looking for fitting words; most were on the
already-used list. In fact EACH of Blind, Gloom, Plump was simply the first
fitting word I thought of that was not already used.
Google says only 41% of Wordle words have been used. That conflicts with
my experiments. To reconcile this, I think there are hundreds of words on the
Wordle word list that are discarded as “too uncommon for a friendly family game”
when they’re drawn out of the bag.
