Slate once again proves its greatness with two Greens.
(Crane is almost as good – my default #2 sleuth is Crony.)
But now is not the time for a default sleuth. I prepared a list of
a dozen unused possibilities, found that N, I, R and double-E
were most likely, but since the second E could occur almost anywhere
there was no good way to look for it. Prion was the best sleuth I could find.

GRAVY → Whiff. O, E, and three of the four remaining WoFcons… I have a choice between STOLE and
STONE → Did the right one. U is unlikely, so if I try an I to go with that terminal E for the middle, and move the N to the front… SNI?E, could be SNIDE or
SNIPE → It is
SNIDE
SINCE or SENSE were also possibilities (I totally did not see that the middle letter could have been different), but it turns out that my guess put a par “in the bag” so to speak. Its hard to evaluate my second guess since literally every one of the visible possibles left after my opener has a terminal S, which we know is exceptionally rare in Wordle (and explains why Scordle prefers TARES to STARE as a guess when both are possible - this may be a flaw in Scoredle’s algorithm). But I think it’s rare to have no bogus words left after the third guess. Scoredle’s own solution gets a par, with its top third guess pick (out of over 20 valid possibles) leading to a tap-in.

ERASE
This is the 6th game since I resumed using the Best Start™.
Three Eagles and Three Birdies. Over the six tries, Slate’s
average response has been 1.33 greens and 0.83 yellows.
No credit to me; Miss Slate gets all the glory. In this case
Pease is archaic, Usage and Cease already used.
What was left but Erase?
