rather than Greens. I almost went Spiny at #2, not hoping for an Eagle, but just to

Somewhat frustratingly slow progress for the first three, then a little luck to save par. There were, maybe, four legit words left.

MISER → Well, that’s something. I couldn’t try all the remaining WoFcons so I tried adding an A and saw
SLAIN → So T is still out there, and the first thing I saw (and typed in) had two of them
STINT → Which was pretty foolish, since STING covered another consonant, and I’m now in solid trap territory. But, seeing and thinking about that gave me a good next thing to try

There were 6 or 7 (heh heh) possibles after three, so I made a lucky par with this puzzle. In fact, that third guess is 3/24 per Scoredle’s list, so not quite as bad a guess as I had thought. Scoredle, on the other hand, takes a bogey, and had a 50-50 putt on that final guess, so a six was quite possible.
