REALS β†’ While bogus, it will at least shut Scoredle up a bit when it’s time to do that. OK, I still have three vowels left and N or T. I can try one of the vowels and that N with the probably also bogus
SARIN β†’ Placing the S is nice, and when you throw in the T STAIR jumps out - but it places A & I where I know they aren’t. Must end with A & R in some order - S?IRA, perhaps? Eventually I got methodical and saw

would have been a better second guess - I’d have had a shot a a birdie - but a nice par nonetheless. Scoredle starts out well, but after its third guess has to decide between the solution and a very bogus word - and for some reason opts for the bogus word, missing the tap-in and ending with a bogey. I think the algorithm could use some tweaks.

I had the same start back on #1601. Posting here then I mentioned a list of
19 fitting words, but an uncharacteristic fit of tidiness must have disposed of that
scratch paper, so I started afresh. 24 words, of which 17 were already used, and 2
were non-Wardle words, This left Posse, Purse, Copse, Rinse, Noose of which
the first three would guarantee Birdie. The non-Wardle words were Prise and Douse,
and only Purse would guarantee a Birdie for those also. (Yes I asked Douse in #1601;
that must have been before I started checking the Wardle list as part of my routine.)

There were four more possibles after that third guess, which might well have sunk me. Interestingly, Scoredle would have chosen the answer had it made my third guess, but would chose a different possible for my fourth guess. On its own hook, it does get that birdie on a 1-in-12 guess, but does even better with its own start word, with which it makes a two.
