1729 is informally known among math geeks as Ramanujan’s Number. The story is that when Ramanujan was in the hospital and fellow mathematician G.H. Hardy visited him, Ramanujan asked Hardy if he’d seen any interesting numbers lately. Hardy said the number of his taxicab was 1729, but that’s not interesting. Ramanujan replied something along the lines of “that’s a fascinating number! It’s the smallest number that’s the sum of two cubes, two different ways.”
1729 = 1000 + 729 (10 cubed + 9 cubed)
1729 = 1728 + 1 (12 cubed + 1 cubed)

EATEN → OK, that’s a pretty good start. Rotate everyone right one space and try again, with two other WoFcons this time
NEARS → That didn’t go very far. What happens if I try it again? Only without the WoFcons, there’s only one left after all
KNEAD → Hey, K was a nice pickup. E must go on the end, A at the start, AN?KE or ANK?E, the latter suggests a word with the last WoFcon
ANKLE
Tap-in par. My second guess was 55/111, almost dead on the median, although one of the worst-rated guesses with that terminal letter. If I had waited around to look for a word with a WoFcon on my third guess, the solution was 7/29, so I could have done better. Scoredle almost gets the birdie, but misses on a 1-in-3-valids guess to finish with par.

ALINE was not likely to be the solution, but it did a good job of narrowing the list down. Lost the coin toss for par though.

By typing in the wrong word here in the middle of the night. I just fixed that.
That (BADGE) was my initial choice for a second guess, then i decided on digit, because the “D” was in one of the places a “D” could be, so it would help be distinguish the four “D” words. I was looking for words with a D and a G, and at least one of B and T.
Is there a way to copy and paste words from wordle? I always type them. This is not the first time I’ve messed up, although last time it was a typo, not a brain fart.
I’ve done that before, late at night, and I typed in the wrong word. Brain fart coupled with near-sleep. No, I do not think there’s a way to C & P from Wordle.
It’s nice to be able to change your post over 6h later!

ANKLE → That’s a good start… if it doesn’t turn into a trap. And I can try a good first guess second
SLATE → But that wasn’t it! STARE, but my fingers disobeyed me. I hope that duplicate letter doesn’t come back to haunt me. Anyway, this is trap territory. Let’s try one with an R this time
FRAME → Not sure it cost me much at this point. Let’s keep looking for consonants
BRACE → No help there.
GRAPE → Well, that’s something. One guess left… and two words to fill it. Mental coin flip comes up tails, so
GRAVE
Didn’t make the grade. Scoredle finishes with a par, hitting the 1-in-4 putt in the trap first time. It turns out, when faced with this trap, you should try the leading consonant that I left for last with the first guess and left the leading consonant that I tried first for the last. Not sure I’ll remember that next time, but I try to learn a little something from every Wordle.
They changed their font. I don’t care for it, but I suppose I’ll get used to it.
