I don’t feel bad about this 5. Obviously I had eliminated more* than half the alphabet with my first three guesses, and didn’t have much to show for it. I thought of MAXIM, and though it had been used before, it was the solution to Wordle #50, so if they were going to recycle solutions two days in a row, then it was well inside the zone. MAFIA started life as a proper noun but is most often used these days as a common noun, but I wasn’t sure if that was enough to make it eligible. Apparently the answer is ‘yes’ so I can keep that in mind going forward.
*Eliminating U pretty much takes out Q with it, so 14 letters gone.
