Narrowed it down to one without actually placing any letters, which I found somewhat interesting.

ASTER → A rather slower start than I hoped for. I wanted to get all of O, I, N and L into a word along with that T but failing to find one I used
JOINT → which was productive. So now I can add the L and a terminal Y in and get
LINTY → and then move the N over and a quick burst of thought gives us
NIFTY

My guesses rated 4/289, 3/7 and a tap-in from Scoredle, so a tolerably skillful day. Both of my intermediate guesses were just one letter off from Scoredle’s recommendations. Given this, you might expect that Scoredle would score the same par - and you would be correct.
