I really wanted at least two of the remaining WoFcons in my second word. I rejected a lot of options that had the O or N in a known wrong position. Then I finally settled on a word that had the N in a known wrong position. Dummy.
I don’t think a birdie was in the cards anyway, but still.

THETA → Third carryover whiff in a row. It’s been ten days since I had more than one letter from a carryover. Yes, I feel picked on. Finding no words that use O & U and three of the remaining four WoFcons, I figure I’ll go for two WoFcons to jump into a potential trap
SOUND → Whew, no trap. And a good placement. But I would like to place that O, so I’ll double up with
SNOOP → With R & L still out there of the WoFcons, I can’t make a word that uses either of them. So I looked over the remaining letters and hit upon
SNOWY
After a followup that is not in the top 120 from the carryover, I had 2/15 and 1/5 (where the other four guesses were bogus, so a virtual tap-in for par). Scoredle makes a 3-vowel followup, which allows it to double up on the known vowel on the third guess and leaves two guesses (one bogus) for a virtual tap-in par of its own.

Could’ve also been unused OAKEN, PAEAN, or APNEA, so I was a bit lucky there. All the already-used possibilities except OCEAN (Wordle 797) had been used just in the past year or so, so I wasn’t worried about reuse.

SNOWY → Hey, two letters on the carryover. Maybe my moaning and groaning from yesterday helped. The W in particular is nice. I should try a WoFcon and two vowels, since I have not a one yet, and I see one word really quickly that hits it for me, even though it doesn’t use an E
TWAIN → Not bad. I think I need an E, since terminal-Y is out and that’s the only vowel left. I look at WREAN for a second before I decide I need to separate A from the hypothetical E, and then it’s quick work to

My guesses were 37/62 and 7/7 (that’s right, the answer was dead last in Scoredle’s list!) so I don’t know if it was a very lucky day or if the algorithm simply did poorly on this particular first word/solution setup. I felt like it was pretty skillful. The algorithm looks pretty skillful, though - finishes with a true tap-in birdie, so I guess I should take my morning as luck and just enjoy it.
