I have the “no advertisements” version (New Words) loaded on my iPhone. Just yesterday a problem arose. I tap on the icon and I get another that says the program is loading, but it never stops “loading” and I can’t use the game.
I assume if I delete the ap I will have to re-purchase it and I will lose all the games I’m playing.
You shouldn’t have to re buy it, I have the app on my phone and two years later got one for my tablet. I’ve only had to buy it once. Actually I had to kill everything off my phone and was able to get it back without paying for it. While mine’s not iTunes I can’t imagine them making you pay for it more then once.
Your app is stored on iCloud. After it is deleted, you can reinstall it from the Cloud and not have to pay again. You can do that by just installing it anew.
Apple remembers that you purchased the app (I doubt that it is the cloud, but I could be wrong - the cloud is mostly for other data). Delete it, go to the app store, reinstall.
When you log in, your games ought to be re-downloaded from the Zynga Words with Friends server. It might be the case that the games will only be downloaded when your opponent makes a move or nudges you. As it happens, a “game” is a complete data unit, and each game is completely downloaded each time a move is made (then, behind the scenes, each move is made invisibly, in a method called [game inflate], until the last one). The point is that the games would be downloaded anyway when it did check for new moves.
I’m not guessing, although I admit it’s been a couple of years.
I checked iCloud under Settings and that app is not there. However, if you go to factory reset and reset the phone, then log in using your user name and password, all the data that you had on the phone will be recovered by using iCloud.
