I remember reading a while back that actors worked 12 or more hours a day. Is that still the case or does it depend on the studio/director/etc. And do they work 5 day weeks ? Also I guess it depends on if you are a star vs. a minor character.
It depends on the specific production. Budgets, timelines, location limits, personnel availability, sunlight, and so forth all factor into how many shots they will try and cram into a day/week.
Just to answer your question though, yes, there often times where an actor will be on set for 12 or more hours. My sister has been on a few that last 20 hrs. But we’ve also been on some where we were wrapped after just a few hours (though production usually still continued, they were just done with us)
