Has anyone ever seen a job posting for an onboard-chef? I’m researching for an English class and I need a some-what formal job discription. So far googling has failed me.
Can anyone point to a corporate site or a job-bank that might have job postings for this sort of work?
Thanks
I met a guy once who worked as a sailing chef. It’s not a very formal industry, even for those with loads of cash. Maybe you should try calling a marina and seeing what they suggest.
Aboard a yacht? I figured that was a typo, but you never know…
I googled ‘sailing chef yacht employment opportunity’ and got dozens of hits.
I dated a guy who worked on a yacht as the chef. He dropped out of the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) to take the job. Why don’t you try to chef schools to see if they have job postings?
Look here and click on “Job Available List” - I found 4 listings for chef/cook positions.
More listings at this site, if you click “Available Jobs” on the left side, then search on “Chefs and Cooks.”
Hope these help.
If your school (I’m assuming you’re in college) has an academic advising and exploration center/department, you might want to check with them. They usually have massive books with every imaginable job and its description in them. Someone there might be able to help find additional resources about that field, as well.
