working/living downsouth

I met a man (briefly) in an airport 2 years ago. though it was a brief meeting, it inspired both of us to continue getting to know one another via chat/phone calls/emails. It’s been 2 years now. We’ve dated and seen other people but all through it, our friendship has just grown stronger.

We want to give this a go (no long distance traveling back and forth but I real fair shot)

I’m Canadian. He’s American. It’s easier for me to relocate. I’d like to know what I’ll have to do in order to work in the States.

thanks in advance

maybe i didnt make myself clear…

do i need a work visa or sup’m to work in the states?

IANAIO, but…

TOT,IRL, I worked with a guy from Canada who was becoming an American through work. He supplied a skill that wasn’t available, so he had a work visa, that eventually turned into a green card which eventually turned into citizenship. He did have to be sponsered by the company to get the visa. The company had to declare that it searched for a suitable worker before hiring him with the work visa.

So if you are a teacher, you will have an easier time than if you are a waitress, er, server person.

I found this site that states in part

The site is sponsered by a lawyer, but basically says that after 9-11 it’s harder to get a visa. But he may be saying that to increase his customer base.
