The warehouse I work at is open on Jan 1, so I went in yesterday. My dept. has 150+ people and we had fewer than 50 show up for work, and we had similar turn-out in other areas. Part of it is that with the start of a new quarter people get two sick days, but it seems pretty short-sighted to use one the first day, and depend on that one remaining day to get you to April, even with our four day workweek.
For others that worked the holiday, how was employee turnout?
