Thus far, I’ve only watched the World Cup on Telemundo, in Spanish. Why? Because I know that Fox is going to saddle us with douchy American announcers. Say what you will about the ESPN coverage; they used awesome British announcers. How are you watching and how are you enjoying it?
One huge difference between Fox and Disney is that Fox airs many more matches over the airwaves for free.
Most Fox matches being called from a studio 2 miles from my apt in West LA. English language broadcasters are misjudging the market and some of us won’t go back.

I thought I heard to same announcers calling games at different sites, but I hadn’t been paying enough attention to be sure.
There are some good match-ups going on today, and pretty much every match has some sort of effect on the next round. I am going to try my damnedest to miss the results over the course of the day and I’ll try like hell not to tune in at half time of the later matches. I only wish I could picture-in-picture this shit. I may have to break up my DVR viewing - half of one game, half of the other game, back and then back again. I don’t know. I’m in a quandary.

I think Argentina has a good chance of another final defeat. They have a tough route, but frankly nobody on their side of the R16 has shown great form.

Uruguay? And its still possible that Brazil finishes first and is in that half of the brackets. Plus either England or Belgium. And France will be much more fast and athletic than Argentina. But they haven’t been putting the ball in the back of the net either.
Argentina v Brazil haven’t met in the World Cup since 1990. Wow. The top half of the bracket might be a South American shootout if today’s results play out that way.
Mexico-Sweden…interesting yellow card there. Both Swede and Mexican jumped to receive (or head) a high ball, each with one leg high in the air, entangled. The Swede was carded because his leg is longer, and so connected with the Mexican’s cojones.

We have finally reached the point in the WC where every touch matters and the intensity is off the charts. Both Sweden and Mexico deserve to advance but life isn’t fair.
So if SWE-MEX and GER-SKO both end in scoreless draws (or draws of any sort,) Mexico and Germany advance?
