I’m an England supporter and I’d put it at 50:50. It is nonsensical to say that such an evenly balanced game sees either team with “no chance”. The bookies just love people with your level of certainty.
Okay, stupid question I’ve had for years thanks mainly to BBC quiz shows. Why is it called a “cap”?
I see a 1-0 game either way.
I googled this a while ago. Apparently England literally gave out caps, or small hats, to each player who played a game for the national team. The term is used in cricket as well.
In Colombia its what they give you if you score an own goal. ![]()
They still do I think.
While Sweden has clean sheets in 5 of their last six competitive matches, that means nothing today. If its 0-0 at the half maybe it will end 1-0. If there is an early goal that changes everything and opens up play.
I see it the same way, with the next game being of similar difficulty. Which would give us about a 1-in-4 chance of making the final, and perhaps a 1-in-8 chance of winning the cup. That’s way better odds than I’d have given us pre-tournament.
538 has it at about 60:40 England:Sweden. So slight favorites. England slight underdogs against either France or Belgium to win it all if they can get to the finals.
Boring game so far… a goal is needed (pointing out the bloody obvious).
If yesterday’s Brazil-Belgium game was like Real Madrid vs. Barcelona, this one is like Malaga vs. Las Palmas.
Happy now? Nice header.

You were saying…
And as soon as write that, Big Head Harry scores!
You don’t get tired of being wrong, do you?
At this rate, all male children born in England the rest of this year are going to be named after Harry, Harry, or Harry.
For all your going on about Brazil, they never had even 1 dominating game. When is the last time they won any kind of trophy? Chile has won the last two Cops Americas. It will be 20 years between World Cups should they win in Qatar. Brazil is living on their way past glory.
Ha! You’re funny. Besides my detailed game predictions, which we can all agree affected by random events in games (not to mention bad calls and bad luck), I haven’t been wrong yet.
Well, Sweden have to finally start playing in the second half if they want to have a chance…
