Very harsh penalty, made sure the trailing leg was dangled and “bought” the contact. I’d love to see those punished with a yellow card, they happen far too often.

Any direct kick foul in the penalty box is automatically a penalty kick. Severity of the foul is not a consideration.
The defender obviously clipped the attacker’s leg, tripping him up. Dumb foul and obvious penalty.

Well, I half-jokingly predicted a Messi-Ronaldo Final being engineered by FIFA and Qatar. The government of Qatar owns PSG, the team that Messi plays on. Mbappe and Neymar also play for that team.
But Argentina is legitimately playing better and should be up.
I think that FIFA corruption is at the macro rather than the micro level but…would anyone really be massively surprised if such a thing were uncovered?
