My prediction:

I would so love to be wrong and see Putin embarrassed in front of the world but I don’t see it happening.
Agreed on all counts. I think the Saudis are weak enough that the officials won’t need to cheat much in this one (which is probably why it’s the opening game - more scrutiny/media attention than later on).

I’m optimistic that Saudi Arabia will defeat Russia, 1-0.
Yes, Russia is corrupt but at least the Saudis can match Putin’s money!
I would happily lose to your prediction. 
I remember the last time the Saudis were at the World Cup. I predict Russia will put at least four past them. 4-0. Maybe 6-0.
Saudis to get a consolation goal and go down 5-1.
Russia known for kicking poor teams when down. I remember watching 1994 Russia v. Cameroon, when Salenko scored his five goals in the 6-1 drubbing.

I seriously thought the Russia game would be a 1-1 draw with the Saudis or something.

Much though I’d love to see the loathsome Suarez lose I just can’t see Egypt doing it - Uruguay 2, Egypt 0.
I know nothing about these two teams so Morocco 1- Iran 1?
Finally a game worth watching and it’s even time-zone friendly for me as well. I suspect Spain will do it 2-1.
I took a half day off from work for it. Looking forward to a couple of pints while watching this one.
2-1 Uruguay, I’d like to see Salah show what he can do but I’m not sure Egypt will have enough to make it stick (and I think Suarez is a cock as well, he is eternally shamed in my mind for his unrepentance in that Ghana game 2010)
