If you can manage it, next time I’d recommend transferring items instead of gold. Find something that’s cheaper on the side you want to transfer the cash from and also sells well on the side you want to transfer to, buy as much of it as you can with the amount of money you want to send over, then enlist a friend so that you can set up a bunch of auctions with 1c bid and 1c buyout.
Caveat being, you only want to try this if you’ve got someone you trust and Vent or another voice chat. That said, I’ve only had one auction like this accidentally get bought out by someone else (I was moving faction-specific pets at the time), and the person who bought it out was nice enough to send it back to me.
If you have access to more than one account, you can park a mule for each faction at the neutral AH, and just run another copy of WoW at the same time with that second account up to buy the auctions out.
This is one patch I’m really excited about – the other patches I’ve seen didn’t get nearly as much squee although the 3.1 ammo changes were really sweet.
The classes that have the *potential *to spec as tanks are Death Knight, Druid, Paladin, and Warrior. However, these are not “tanking classes.” Each still has to be specced and geared to act as a tank, and they all have many more non-tanking Talent choices than tanking-related ones.
Your class only determines what role(s) you *cannot *take (e.g., Warriors will never heal, but they can either DPS or tank; Priests will never tank, but they can either DPS or heal).
For what its worth, I have done that mob a few times with 70’s and the problem has always been trying to keep the tank healed 9the damage is a little clumpy). We always ended up using a spot healer (Shadow priest focused on the tank) and that seemed to do the trick.
On the plus side it is a very short run to regroup from a wipe.
A lot of this is really really nice stuff… love the new battleground options (twinks, since you’re always saying its about the skill, now is your chance to prove it).
The one thing I’m not sure I like is getting Emblems of Conquest from Heroics and Naxx - will anyone every run Ulduar again after this patch? Or is that the goal? I thought Blizz wanted a nice linear progression (Heroics->Naxx->Uld->???->Icecrown Citadel). This seems to cut out a few steps…
I never said that warriors can only be tanks. You seem to think I did but I don’t recall ever saying that.
I believe this all started when I responded to someone complaining about being pestered to tank. I said that if you are a warrior, you are a tanking class and people are going to pester you to tank so if you don’t want to deal with that then might want to reroll.
Fine warriors are a DPS class TOO but they are a tanking class just like priests, shaman, druids and paladins are healing classes. You may not like the class role but I don’t think you are correct that class roles do not exist.
Oooh, Replenishment got a serious buff. 5% mana in 5 seconds is a hell of an increase over 3.75% mana in 15 seconds.

NOOOO! Exorcism has a cast time! sob I was loving that as an instant-cast! …And they’re removing Seal of the Martyr/Blood? Aw, man, I just got it, too. Looks like they’re redesigning Seal of Command to be what SoM was, sort of. I suppose that makes sense. I guess the time of the OP Retadin is over.
If you figure out a good combo, let me know! Other than robes, I can’t think of anything a mage can wear that’s actually -white-. White pants, white tunic… Hard to pull off… Hrm. Tuxedo shirt, I guess… Now pants…?
Emblem of TRIUMPH now?! Sheesh. I dunno, I’m getting sick of the “Everything you worked hard to collect means nothing now. Now chase after the next carrot on the stick!”
Double this for the new mount stuff. Outlands will now be a speedbump that no one will see the surface of.
Replenishment is nice. Very nice.
Invisibility change is nice (hey, I’ve got two mages) though the ‘noninterruptable’ smacks as something… Odd. Not sure what yet.
The change on the pallie seals is… Saddening, but luckilly my ret got to 80 and I completely lost interrest in playing it.
Hm. Pennance cooldown is gonna irk a guildie of mine to no end, and I can see why. It always seemed slow to me to begin with.
Rogues, no big cha… AXES?! WTF?!
Doo de doo de … CHEF’S HAT MAKES ME COOK FASTER! YAY!!!
Damuri, there are no class roles. There are roles that some classes can fill that other cannot, but that does not make them class roles. Classes that can tank are not tanking classes; classes that can heal are not healing classes. If you are a Warrior, your role is not a tank unless you are Protection. This is not Vanilla WoW; this is not EQ. It is all about spec.
I don’t think you think Warriors can only tank, but I think you’re bringing a lot of notions about roles from other games. “Roll a class that isn’t expected to tank” isn’t, IMO, a good response to “people keep trying to make me tank when I keep telling them no,” anymore than “stop dressing like a slut” is a good response to “men keep making sexual advances to me even when I keep telling them no.” (Obviously, we’re talking a few orders of magnitude difference in seriousness, here, but I can’t think of another analogy off the top of my head.)

Tuxedo shirt has a tie. I think there’s a white dress shirt that doesn’t, though…
Is this right? The way I’m reading it is that its a total of 1% mana over 5 seconds instead of 0.25% every second for 15. I’d be happy to be wrong on this but it looks like a Replenishment nerf right now. Which doesn’t make a lot of sense…
“1% of the target’s maximum mana over 5 seconds”
“0.25% per second”
Kind of sloppy of them to use two different wordings. Well, damn. That’s definitely a nerf. Even if you can set it up so you’re refreshing Replenishment every 5 seconds, that’s only 3% mana every 15 seconds instead of 3.75%.
Re: **Shot From Guns **and Bosstone, regarding cross-faction communcation and help.
I wasn’t around for the early days of WoW, but I’ve heard that the big reason Blizzard decided to keep the languages separate was to cut down on the trash talk, particularly in PVP environments. If that’s true, then it’s probably a good thing. Hopped-up thirteen year olds are irritating enough when they can only talk smack at their allies.
To me one of the coolest things about the “Lich King” release event was that the zombies truly were a third faction. While Alliance zombies couldn’t talk to Alliance players, and Horde zombies couldn’t talk to Horde players, Alliance zombies could talk to Horde zombies. We had a lot of fun teaming up with people we knew from the other side, if just for a few days.
What I enjoyed most about the whole cross-faction zombie thing was the ability to transfer things back and forth between Horde and Alliance without using the neutral AH.
You had to coordinate it a bit because the zombies didn’t last very long, but my Alliance spouse and I (blood elf mage) managed to pass a couple of thousand gold across fee-free by meeting up in Booty Bay, hiding in an out-of-the-way place so we didn’t get ganked, and making our quick and furtive transactions. It was great.
