World of Warcraft General Discussion

Whoa, cool. I took the chest plate on that quest; the helm was inferior to what I already had so I probably didn’t even ctrl-click to see how it looked.

Yeah. I usually run with the helmet hidden, since I think most helms look absolutely retarded. By chance, I decided to turn helm display back on while I was wearing that, and I liked it so much I left it. Course, as soon as I upgraded I had to hide again. Sadly there aren’t any level 80 pieces that look like that.

Found it!

Here’s one I agree with 100%

Thats the one. I love it. I still have the Kalu’ak one in my bag but since I got the Bone Fishing pole I only use it because of how it looks.

Also a comment on my previous post:
I didn’t mean to come off sounding like I was bragging. It just seems to me that Blizz up’d the drop rates of the good stuff because for 5 months all I got was worms and water walking potions and then poof two months ago I started getting all this good stuff. I don’t think it’s tied to fishing skill either as I had my fishing up to 450 before I hit 74 and made it up to Dalaran. It’s funny I love fishing in this game but find it boring in real life.

I was going through some of the comics Shot From Guns linked to and I just started an herbalism/alchemy alt and this comic had me laughing.

I love the look on her face in the last panel. She’s trying so hard.

“Sleeping with the Fishes”

Quasimodem, do you actually look for new pieces of armor on the AH every time you level?

On the subject of skimpy armor for females, I found this great cartoon:

Yes, Ma’am (Sir?), I do. I thought that is what I should do.

No?

Q

Nothing wrong with looking, buying on the other hand is probably a waste of gold.
Personally I try to upgrade every 5-10 levels, but even then it has to be at a reasonable price, there is no way I’m paying 10+g for a level 30 green!

I wish to apologize for not having taken a screenie of my female dwarf during those five minutes that my guild’s tabard had the “lightning” model.

Five seconds for me to yell “oh lord NO!”, fifty seconds for the GM’s wife to stop bashing him with the sofa’s pillows, and some four minutes for him to come up with something that didn’t make the female players in the guild freak out.

On April 1, our guild leader really made us all scream. We logged in to find the nice black tabard with double-lightning bolts turned into a shockingly hot pink tabard with bright green leafy border and a huge Greek omega emblazoned across it (her main character’s name is Omegamoo).

Worse yet, she left it that way for several days.

We have a pink tabard with a bunny on it. I love my guild.

Wait…are you a Pink Nicie?

Heh heh heh. No. We’re a progression guild, and we do PvP as a group at times, it’s just not a required part of the guild. We just think the idea of having a bad-ass tabard is silly, and we take ourselves as seriously as we take our tabard. It’s a PvP server, as well, so some PvP is going to happen at instance portals, and we do occasionally do Wintergrasp during raid nights to do Vault.

That would have been TOO weird. The Pink Nicies were my old guild on Turalyon. Our tabard was pink, with a white bunny. I think they still exist, but a) I haven’t played that character but once or twice in the last two years, and b) the last time I logged in on him, I knew NOBODY in our guild.

You know, I just used it for the first time last night and while it looks really cool (and the +30 is sweet since I don’t have the Kalu’ak one) I had a problem. With the “standard” and Nat Pagle poles I could see my line before the bobber appeared. This helped a lot when trying to hit a node (I could recast if the line didn’t end in the water). With the Bone Pole I can’t see the line and so don’t know if I hit the node until the bobber shows up (maybe 2 secs later). Not a big deal, but does add a few seconds to each catch - when farming up the Dragonfin it can make a difference.

Oh, and on that note there was absolutely zero Dragonfin on the AH last night (or Mammoth Cutters). Are there that many people taking a break? Fewer farmers (producers) and more raiders (consumers)? Or maybe it was just a fluke occurance.

I won’t complain because I can fish up a few stacks of Dragonfin in 30 mins or so and make a nice bit of cash, but having no ammo for sale really sucked 20 mins before raid start last night.

That’s brilliant. I never did figure out how one could fail at picking a flower but now I’ve figured it out - it’s the damn hooves.

Sorry, you just can’t beat that time the aforementioned GM went on vacation.

After changing the tabard.

To hot pink, with a white heart and white border.

I still want to kill him, but Sweden is a bit too far and his wife refuses to relinquish dibs anyway.

Several years ago on my alliance server my main joined a guild that was just a couple of friends who wanted their own guild so I signed their charter and played in that guild for a while. They had a pretty nice tabard too. Well after just a couple of months some of my friends started playing so I switched servers and joined their horde guild and that’s where I play today. About a year ago I decided to log into my alliance characters just for giggles and I found that the guild was empty, not disbanded just empty. The only toons in it were me and one other who hadn’t logged in for two years. The guild note basically said, “We made another guild you can have this one.” So I got a friend to log in and I made him an officer and then had him invite all my alts into the guild and then I went and changed the tabard to black with the skull and crossbones emblem in green.

So in honor of you pinkies tonight I am going to change the tabard to pink and the emblem to black or white depending on what looks better.

My draenei paladin is probably going to stick with her Hand of Argus tabard because it is nicer-looking than the guild tabard. We have a good one, though; it’s blue with a white border and a white starburst kind of thing in the middle. I had my hunter keep wearing hers for a while, but haven’t bothered for several levels. It made her Outlands clown suit look even clownier.
