World of Warcraft General Discussion

Post 3000! Aha!

Sorry, SFG just posted too on the previous page. I just wanted to get this in.

There is an undead-dominated location on the east coast of Stranglethorn, but I THINK that’s all ghouls, zombies and undead trolls. I can’t remember any abominations in that zone, either.

Yeah, I remember those. Just no aboms.

The only thing close in STV that I can think of is the ogres. They look somewhat like abominations (and probably form the basis of abominations).

After questing a bit in STV I decided to run my belf pally up to Arathi Highlands for a while to get a few more levels before I take her back to STV. I ran into the same problem I had with my old tauren hunter around the same level (low-30s) - the quests in Grom’gol and Nesingwary’s camp start out at lvl 31-32, and then suddenly the followup quests are all lvl 37-40.

My lvl 80 human pally finally discovered the point of those “Pygmy Oil” vials she keeps getting from the Dalaran fishing dailies. I’d had her drink them in the past and watched her get maybe half a head shorter, but I didn’t really see the point. But yesterday I decided to have her keep drinking more and more just to see how small she would get, and then she turned into a gnome with a witch doctor mask. Cute

Otherwise, geez, I’m getting tired of the worthless crap I keep getting from the Dalaran fishing daily. The very first time I did that one I got some statue that I vendored for 100g, but since then, aside from the pet, it’s all been worthless colored glass and velociraptor skulls. And deviate fish. (Which I guess are kind of cool. I ate one the other day and got the “Party Spirit” buff, which appears to make your character cycle through the various emotes, like /dance, /laugh, /chicken …)

Yeah, most of the time it’s crap (or grays that sell for maybe 2-10g) but last week I got a Runed Stormjewel that sold in the AH for 600g or so. Not bad for 10 minutes work fishing in the Dalaran sewers.

They’re ogres, Kids, sorry! And yeah, there were three of them on me.

Anybody know where exactly the birds (that fly you from place to place) are located in BB?

That effin’ place is about as bad as Iron Forge for me gettin’ lost! I even went in the drink a couple of times!

Thanks

Q

I just keep twinkin’ don’t I?

What I do is every time I level, I see what better armor I can buy. Is that good strategy? I am taking into consideration stamina and all that other stuff - not just the strength of the armor…

Wonder how long it would take him to shed all that armor if Heather were to let him “score”?

I just feel sorry for Silka, havin’ to carry all that weight.

If it were required as part of the game, I would rub her down, clean out her stall, and all that other horsey stuff.

I love horses!

Hell, I am into this! Big-Time!

ETA: I know you told me how to get rid of all the writing, but was it alt Z or CTRL Z? Thanks!

Q

Hey may be refering to the Ogres east of the lake. (Mu’grosh?)

Quasi, if you looking for other places to quest in your low thirties (alliance?):

Shimmering flats (eastern thousand needles) has some.

See Also: Desolace (alliance FP is in northern moutain ridges), Southshore (Hillsbrad, where they give you quests you need to get accomplished in Alterac Mountains), Arathi Highlands, and a draenai outpost in eastern Ashenvale, Forest Song (it has a FP now).

They’re also used by Alchs to make Water Walking Elixirs.

If you know someone with the recipe, they can make Savory Deviate Delight from the Deviate Fish, which should sell well on the AH (turns you into a ninja or a pirate). There are lots of vendor trash items that come out of the bag that vendor well, too–the whale statue is 10g, the painting is 25g, the tower key is 16g66s66c, the gold coins are 1g, etc. Then there are the worm lures that give you +100 fishing for a full hour. There are probably some good items you haven’t gotten yet, too–there’s a fishing hat (+Fishing and a Use ability that puts a 10-minute, +75 lure on your pole) and fishing line (permanent +Fishing buff to your pole). There are also fun random things like the pimp cane. But that’s what the fishing daily has always been–a grab bag of mostly crap, with a few useful or fun things now and again.

The Alliance flyer is on the top level, pretty close to the inn. Go to the top floor of the inn and out the door to the mailbox. Past the mailbox, you’ll cross a little plank. To your right after you cross the plank is a building. Go inside–you’ll see hay on the floor. Go up the stairs, and on the balcony of the second floor is the Flight Master.

If you think that’s a bra… You should see the way some of the armor displays on female characters! (I’ve had a piece or two that actually looks like a bra, and my chest piece right now leaves my stomach hanging out.)

It’s not going to hurt, but it probably isn’t worth the money to upgrade every level. Most pieces will last you for at least a few. When I’m leveling up, I usually only buy equipment when a piece is getting really outdated (and even then, I try to look for items that I can get as quest rewards or as drops off of instance bosses first).

There’s an amusing sketch somewhere (I think on the official WoW site’s fan-made art section) of a very pooped looking flyer carting around a character and all of her bags, mounts, etc.

ETA:

I’m pretty sure it’s Ctrl+Z, but I’m not 100%. (I actually remapped mine to Ctrl+Alt+Z, because I kept hitting it accidentally.)

And speed (haste) pots. Haste pots are your friend, drink one juuust before the pull, and you can get two in during the fight

Don’t for get the 5 ring (it ate the three and four rings).

The worst offender (other than the very concept of midriff baring plate on a tank) is the Black Mageweave bunny suit, I mean set.

I’d swear it was alt+Z, but lord knows my key bindings are nothing to go off of. I can’t play mains on anything but my machine anymore, I’ve gotten so used to the extra keys, and my custom binds.

There are a couple of things they’re an ingredient for, actually. I just named the one thing you can make with ONLY Pygmy Oils.

I love that flavor text. 'Course, the drop rate on it is so low that he probably won’t ever see it.

Well, the best way to tell (other than actually going into your options and scrolling down to see what that keybinding is) is to just hit 'em both. One will hide your interface, and the other won’t.

It’s Alt-Z by default. I know this because I mix it up with X which is set to ‘sit’ by default as well.

(Am on VACATION. Playing WoW. And I has a bag of stroopwaffels. YAY.)

I have no idea what stroopwaffels are, but they sound delicious.

Oh. Oh my. Mmmmnnn…

Please forgive, but I would like to offer a more detailed description, as he can’t see a mailbox from inside the inn.

Go into inn at ground floor. Take stairs up, which lead to a plack bridge passing over the main barroom.

Cross over plack bridge, hang a right, and go up a short set of stairs. You in a room with a couple goblins and a dwarf. (Facing east, I think.)

Walk up to dwarf, turn left, head out of the inn northwards. You should be on an outside balcony with no NPC’s on it. (If you see a Tauren and a Goblin, you went out the west [wrong] door.)

Face left, and you’ll see the mailbox in question. Go to it, then face right. A plank crosses over to another section of buildings.

Cross over, turn right. Enter that building, go up the stairs, and head outside. You should see a dwarf/FP master.

I got a really kick ass fishing pole from the fishing grab bag plus all the other things that have been mentioned. Lately though I’ve been getting storm jewels. I’ve been doing the fishing daily, daily, since January and nothing good and then in the last month and a half I got the crab pet, three storm jewels, the good vendor trash and the fishing pole.

I’d link the pole but I’m at work and can’t access any WoW sites. The pole has a blue glow to it and the reel is in the mouth of a skull and it has the +30 fishing on it.

I love the model on that pole. Unfortunately, the Kalu’ak one, while uglier, is better, so when it popped out of my bag, I vendored it. :frowning:

we call these McGriddles in the old US of A

Is that Bone Fishing Pole? Cause I got that one too but my fishing only just became good enough to use it and I haven’t equipped it yet…

Kind of like what my blood elf paladin is wearing right now, though she usually has her tabard on over that so it isn’t as noticeable.

Still, female belfs can appear somewhat obscene in certain situations …

My favorite armor is still the full set of Bloodscale plate my human pally was wearing in her early 60s.

Unfortunately, the armor I would really like to have is unobtainable: the suit worn by the belf paladin trainer in Undercity. Why can’t players get a helm that looks that good?

Like this?

Check it out.
