Heh if I see Alliance players killing those couriers I always join in to kill them, For the Horde!
I have just finished most of the quests in Arathi on my Warlock I really enjoyed questing there (though I am Horde so will have different quests) and it’s a good place for mining Iron too. One quest chain I have to recommend is this The Princess Trapped as you get to fight a couple of large and impressive mobs. I have nearly finished it myself though I failed trying to solo the very last kill which is tough but a great fight to experience. A couple of levels required then I’ll be back to kill ‘it’.
I have an invite to a Guild Meeting in my calendar this morning (loving the new iPhone Armory app!) but it doesn’t say where. I am right in assuming this means we don’t actually meet up physically in game merely log on at the same time and discuss things in chat??
Pretty sure the Forsaken (undead) courier and bodyguards are green and unkillable to Horde - do you mean the human lieutenant and his escorts, all on horseback?
Oh, I remember how much trouble my questing partner and I had with the Princess, way back in the day when I was Alliance. She’s tough! Is she still elite? I know they nerfed a bunch of the quest elites, which is kind of sad, really. I think the periodic elite quests (the Princess, Stitches, the orcs up in Redridge…too many to count) are the ones that people tend to remember, because they’re pretty much forced to find others to help them with it. Especially if the help was of similar level (rather than grabbing your favorite geared-to-the-teeth level 80 guildie), the fights were memorable and fun. Maybe not at the time (repair bills, ugh!) but looking back, those were some of my best memories of my first leveling experience.
I think the problem is that it is starting to get a little tougher to gather groups at the lower levels now. They appear to have decided to make the game easier to (solo) level up through the Old World (sub 60) stuff.
After a couple hours of hammering our heads against her on Sunday, and another couple of wipes on Monday… we’ve got Freya down!
We’d been having a real problem getting the DPS to all pay attention to switching targets when the three elementals were up, so last night when we finally got all six waves of adds down, I figured we’d wipe at least once from the enrage. But we squeaked by just under the timer–literally only seconds to spare. (I was tanking Freya, and you bet your ass I was hovering over every single one of my ohshit buttons to buy us an extra tick or two before I got smooshed.)
Even with the frustration of wiping because yet again some DPS couldn’t pull their head out of their butt and stop DPSing the add that was almost dead, I’m still really excited to be back into content that has some kind of learning curve. I like working for my upgrades, you know?
**twilly **didn’t just get here. IIRC you already dropped into this thread at least once to tell them to stop whining at me for gold. (Or was that another mod?)
I was actually pretty happy with how long the WotLK install took, at least in comparison to the original game and TBC. Of course, it probably helped that it was on a single DVD versus four to five CDs.
I wish you’d made some comment about the Lich King’s whispers so I could deny that they existed.
Personally, I think that the higher your fishing skill is in relation to the area, the greater a chance you should have for your bobber to land in an in-range school.
I hate that freakin’ Forsaken Courier so much. I go out of my way to kill her and her group any time I’m in the area.
Just keep in mind: for Heroics. And you’re still going to be doing a lot less damage than someone in PvE gear of equivalent level, because the gear is wasting points on useless-for-PvE stats like Stamina and Resilience. So, spend some time in those Heroic 5-mans gearing up before you start running raids–or at least be prepared to defend your gear.
Guild meetings are conducted in guild chat, in a raid (if you’ve got 40 or fewer people in the meeting), or in Vent. They may even be in a combination of these things. Sometimes people’s characters will meet in the game during the meeting and screw around (I always use guild meetings to whip out items that I never get to use like wands, booze, my picnic basket, fun outfits, etc.). They’re an opportunity for the GM to speak about the state of the guild, for members to express any concerns they may have, for the leaders to get feedback as to the direction the guild is taking, etc.
Awesome! Nothing sweetens a guild-first bosskill like a Legendary item to go with.
An alt of mine just got invited to a new guild (I needed the gold so I signed the charter) Next thing I know, the guild leader is getting everyone together in an Inn and using the chairs to sit in. And holding court. Then I get a position and some responsibilities and woah woah woah. I smiled politely and then /gquit a little later. I would’ve sent an ingame email to the guild leader, but he had already /gquit himself(!) saying something about needed to get more high level characters.
That’s my little story, but the real answer to your question is, Yes some guilds like to get together at one of the many Inns in the game, or perhaps at some harder to get to place (Like SM Cathedral)
Grats! Our raid seems to find Freya the easiest of the watchers - probably because our DPS is pretty good at switching targets and there really isn’t a ton of tank damage (this is 10-man, not 25). It’s a pretty fun fight, and not too tricky once you get the strat for the add phases sussed out (the explody guys gave us trouble till we started stacking and AOEing them before spreading out to single-target kill them).
Yeah, I agree with this, but there is definitely a line. We have been wiping to Mimiron for hours the last two weeks (after killing him 3 weeks ago). Such a long fight and so many random ways to get someone killed (after which you pretty much have to wipe it). I can’t even count how many times we got to phase 4 only to have a tank not run away from the Shock Blast fast enough or a healer eat a rocket…
Hopefully the raid leader will let us do Hodir and Thorim first this week (since we didn’t even get to kill them we were so busy wiping on Mimi). Thorim in particular isn’t too tough, IMO (as long as you have a good tank in the arena).
Ah, I remember the constant requests back in the day in General chat, “Anyone seen Fozruk?” After finding a group for the quest, the first job for everyone was to actually track the guy down - he hides pretty well for a giant!
I skipped that quest line after getting a bit into it, reading up on it in wowhead, and realizing that it was yet another “get duped by the bad guy and then have to fight him/her/it in the end” quest. Do Not Want.
After a while, I would say, every time he whispered something, “Shut up already,” or, “Whatever you say, sir!” depending on how I felt at the time.
My guild is used to me making comments about the various forms of transportation. I remarked when flying on a skeletal gryphon that it looked very uncomfortable, and one of my guildies said that “suffer well” was obviously an instruction about mounts, too.
After some thought, I respecced my DK to Blood, but I haven’t had a chance to see how it works yet. I was too busy running around in Northrend with my hunter.
Agreed. There I am in STV doing the fishing contest with my 450 Fishing and my +30 pole with the +3 fishing line and a +100 lure, and I still can’t consistently land the bobber in the school?
Hey, how about some socketing suggestions? That Brilliant Titansteel Helm I picked up has a Meta Socket and a Blue Socket. What would be good for a ret pally to stick in there?
So I’m in SW with my 80 pally yesterday and I get a whisper from somebody asking me to run them through Statholme, and I had to confess, “I’m afraid I’ve never been through there.” I’m gonna do it eventually …
I believe a ret pally’s best choice for a meta gem is the Relentless Earthsiege Diamond (the +AGI and 3% damage one). There are really no good blue gems for a ret pally. If you need a blue gem to activate the meta then use an Enchanted Tear. Otherwise you should gem for STR, or of course HIT if you are not hit-capped. You don’t have to match the color of the socket unless you really want the bonus or need to activate a meta requirement (and the bonus is generally not worth using a sub-par gem to get).
I’m a little confused though… is MP5 and SP something a ret pally would want? That helm looks more like a Holy Pally item to me. If it is for holy then of course the gem recommendations would change.
