Oh btw, a Horde Death Knight can also get to Teldrassil (but not Azure/bloodmist) by using path of frost. You get fatigued along the way, but return to non-fatiguing water before the bar goes all the way across. (At least you do if you’ve also got the plus to mounted movement from the unholy tree).
To a certain extent this is true. However, it can also be the reason for a wipe as I found out when I was in the middle of an intense fight and I got a whisper right in the middle of my screen asking, “Hi! Do you want some gold?” Gyah. So if you do use, make sure it’s off to the side.
That said, has anyone been boggling at what’s been coming out of Blizzcon? MAH CLASS! :dubious: Although you gotta admit, the Internet is a beautiful thing. I was playing while perched in an IRC channel, listening to someone on the East Coast recap in real time while they were watching the live stream from Blizzcon.
This past weekend, I spent a lot of time making progress on dragging my gear up to pre-raid levels via running things like crazy and experimenting with gemming. Am I nuts for liking The Oculus, though? That run always seems to be pretty empty, even on heroic. Hell, the guys running it were desperate enough they didn’t want me to sneak away quietly when I found out it was heroic, not reg. I did find out tho that I like riding on bronze drakes and timestopping like a mofo.
SFG,
First of all, I am totally speechless and grateful that you would take time out of your weekend to do this for me!
You and the others know better than anyone (even my RL friends) how much this game means to me, and even though I know y’all are sick of reading this, I appreciate all the help VERY much.
You take so much time to answer questions and give advice, I HOPE you have time to play, too!
Anyway, from what you’ve written, I need to unlearn the talents and “up-learn” the ones from the recommended talent list, yes, and that is done by visiting the warrior trainer? (Just making sure I don’t screw anything up that I can’t “un-screw”;))
Also, will this same warrior teach me two-handed weaponry at 43, or do I need to wait till I reach 44 for that?
And what are the two weapons you would recommend?
I also saw your answers about Ferelas and the ? guy, and thanks for those as well.
We “preesh” all our WoW buds!
Quasi/Wolkie and Silka
The real fun of the Argent Tourney comes in once you’ve picked up your Crusader title–more dailies open up! It’s quickly turning into the QD of Wrath–a quick circuit nets you a nice pile of cash and Crusader’s Seals that you can exchange for entry-level Epic gear, Heirloom gear, mounts, pets, tabards…
I don’t mind it, but the first time I got in there on Heroic was after they made the drakes scale with your gear, so. /shrug
Shucks, ‘tweren’t nothin’. Took maybe five or ten minutes, seriously.
If I added up all the time I spend in-game during a typical week, it would be a very large, very sad number.
Yup! You want to un-learn your talents by talking to a Warrior trainer, then add them back yourself per the layout I gave you. When you un-learn your talents, it will just wipe everything clean and give you back your points to spend again. (It costs more every time you do it, so you can always go back and fix it again–the minimum cost is 1g, but I think it goes as high as 50g or so.)
Make sure to turn on the talent point preview first! That way if you click the wrong thing, you can just remove it instead of having to pay to reset your talents again.
(Personally, I always thought that a talent respec should be on a sliding scale depending on how many points you want to move.)
Class trainers don’t teach you how to use weapons. For that, you need a Weapon Master. If you’re talking about the skill to equip a two-handed weapon in one hand, that’s something you get at the top of the Fury tree, so level 60 is the earliest you could get it. (It’s what’s called a “fifty-one point talent,” because it requires 50 points in the tree to activate, so you use your fifty-first point to purchase it.)
In general, you just want to take the best two weapons you can find. Humans have a slight racial bonus to Expertise with swords and maces, so if everything else is equal, take those over axes, daggers, or fist weapons. Generally speaking, though, you just want to get the highest damage and stat bonuses.
(Expertise reduces the chance the target you’re hitting has to dodge or parry your attacks: more Expertise = more hits landing.)
You and me both. I couldn’t remember when I started Nahren, so I checked this thread for the first time I mentioned it. Looks like it was about 8/18, maybe 8/17, not even a week ago, but Titan’s telling me I’ve already logged 1 day 17 hours on the character. :smack: I am having so much fun with it, though.
Rawr is generally better and more complete.
Typing /played will give you an exact count, down to the minute. (Too bad it doesn’t give you an account-wide total–you’d have to go add it up manually.) If I think of it, I’ll check my main when I get home.
Well yeah, so does the Titan bar. It just takes the /played time and reports it along with all the other info. It’s just that I’m at work right now and was estimating, since it said 1d 16h but that was well before I logged off for the night.
Guildies already run each other’s alts through instances to gear up alts right up until level 70 or so.
I don’t think I ran a single instance “properly” (besides Halls of Lightning for the Hodir quest chain) until I hit 80 and even then it wasn’t until bosses started dropping conquest badges that I even saw the inside of most of these instances.
BoP is a game mechanic that has been around for decades, there is a very good reason for it. Alts already have enough advantages, I’m not sure we need to give them any more.
WTB SEX LIFE FTW?
I too spend more than a “few” hours a week playing. Oh well What else you going to do?
BTW. I FINALLY got the Black Tabby Cat this weekend! Was just doing a quick ride by of Ambermill on my way to helping a friend in SFK and the rare was up.
I sell a LOT of crafted stuff for pretty good money. Its the stuff that you need to level up that you lose money on.
SFG?
I’m standing right in front of Lyria DuLac in Goldshire, and I wrote down all the stuff you wanted me to add and delete, but she isn’t giving me that option?
My present talent tree (which I also wrote down), is as I chose it (it already has Armed to the teeth, Booming voice, cruelty and improved execute, but I cannot remove the other stuff, because she’s not giving me that option?
What am I doing wrong?
BTW, I did the PREVIEW TALENTS thing in interface!
Thanks
Q
Hah, funny you should ask–I just checked what the exact wording was so I could tell you the details.
1.) Right-click on the Warrior trainer.
2.) There will be a dialogue option that says, “I wish to unlearn my talents.” Click it.
3.) This will take you to another page of dialogue that warns you that the costs will increase every time. Click, “Yes, I do.”
4.) This will pop up a confirmation page that starts with something like, “Do you want to unlearn all of your talents?” The cost (probably 1g) will be displayed above two buttons: Accept and Cancel. Click Accept.
5.) Congratulations! You have all of your points to spend again.
ETA: The talent spec I gave you will give you two active talents. They will show up in your Spellbook & Abilities tab the same as abilities you train. Press “P” to open your Spellbook, go to the Fury tab, and drag the new abilities (Death Wish and Bloodthirst) onto your action bar.
Oh, and I just checked my /played on my main…
Total time played: 73 days, 20 hours, 18 minutes, 59 seconds.
Time played this level: 33 days, 9 hours, 4 minutes, 39 seconds.
:o
Phaw, amateur, I got 165 days, 2 hours, 14 minutes, 31 seconds total time played on my druid.
I’m 5 days behind you on level 80 though
SFG!
I sm SO sorry I MISSED that and wasted your time!
Ogdammit!
You took SO much trouble to help me re-classify myself, and I BLEW it!
Jesus! Maybe they’ll take me at Wal-Mart as a “greeter” or buggy-pusher.
SFG, sorry! She just says “Well met!”, even when I right-click on her.
Nothing…
Sorry
Q
My main (Eilyssana):
Total time played: 38 days, 6 hours, 4 minutes, 54 seconds
Time played this level: 13 days, 3 hours, 6 minutes, 21 seconds
Maybe she’s just not a high-level enough trainer? (Not sure if that makes a difference.) Try the warrior trainers in Stormwind.
Well, this character was started in early August of 2007 and was idle pretty much between November of '07 and June of '08 (so, about 16 months total). How long’ve you been playing that one?
Make sure you’re talking to a Warrior class trainer in a capital city. In Stormwind, you want to go to the Command Center in Old Town. The trainers are up the stairs, and their names are Ilsa Corbin, Wu Shen, and Ander Germaine. If you’re not sure where to go, talk to a guard who has a little scroll when you mouseover them, and they’ll mark your map for you. Here’s a marked map you can look at right now of where they are.
