Nope, Daler Mehndi is Indian. But now I’m all sad that I can’t see the “subtitled” video from work–I love those. (One of my favorites is the “Oh, Four Tuna” version of “O Fortuna.”) Maybe you were thinking of “Hatten är din,” the video for which featured people in Turkish costumes, although the lyrics were in Arabic and the singer was from Lebanon.
Yup, I did. Isn’t it wild? I think it took me at least an hour to stop shaking!
I can’t do all that quote/copy/paste thing like you do, so I will try to go back and forth and reply that way.
I used to “fancy” myself a writer (tough to do when English is one’s second language), so I really enjoy writing descriptive narrative and I thank you very much for “seeing” the imagery in the words. Admittedly, it’s a little harder these days, but it gives me a challenge, just as WoW does.
Understood about Wolkie’s weaponry and the Prot Spec (;)). We’re sneakin’ up on 45 and the drops are really getting sweeter, so I wanna make sure I don’t auction something off I need to keep. I put that “Witch” sword in the bank for now, kk?
Understood about the “Resto/Boomkin”, but I liked my wife’s “misunderstanding” of the term much better! (See?? I TRY to get y’all to LOL, even if it’s AT me, but no one ever does. Y’all are such good friends, don’t be afraid of hurting my feelings just because I’m a little “milky in the filbert”. Try to enjoy it, like I do! :D)
And thanks for the explanation about the char I attacked. jayjay already told me not to worry about it, but boy, I gave her “what for”, I really did!
And yeah, I’m a BDL “guildie” now (Warrior), so if you see some toon named Quasimodem running around in circles on Cairne, well, that’d be me!
We were just riding the desert sands (lost as usual) when we came up on the Caliph and his entourage (was it 3 PLUS him? I don’t remember), but Og it was close! Green bar got to within a sliver when Wolkie finally “bested” them all, and we got to complete that quest with NO HELP from anyone at all.

We just TCB’d!
(“Took (Take) Care o’ Bidness” for all you non-Elvis fans)
Man! We just rode right up on that SOB! Just barely got offa Silka, and they were one right behind each other!
I’m glad I had all the weaponry on the right hand side, else we wouldn’t have made it!
I actually do it by using the multiquote feature on the site. On each post I want to reply to, I click the + button, and then on the last one I want to reply to, I click “Quote.” It pulls them all together in one post to reply to.
Oh, agreed. And I laughed–I just wanted to make sure you knew the actual explanation behind the joke, too ('cause I know I’d want to).
Well done, sir! Isn’t that a great feeling, when you take on a whole group by yourself? It still makes me feel like a total badass, every time.
I just started up a druid (well, I actually started him a long time ago, but I’ve just been using him as an auxiliary bank toon). I’ve always played casters in the past. What a difference!! None of this prancing and dancing and running and hiding and careful pulling of one mob at a time. He can just faerie fire a mob, switch to bear form, and take whoever shows up.
Guess y’all might need to be glad you weren’t in the room with me while all that was going on, 'cause I sure “blue’d up” the bedroom with my “locker-room” language, to the point where my wife told me I was gonna have to “limp to the altar” this Sunday!
Mommy-Friggers! Gangin’ up on a feller and his horse like that!
Oddly enough, I just rolled a druid tonight. I’ve been interested in playing a druid for awhile now, just because they can do so many things. I now have 199 Stone Keeper’s Shards, so I can get the BoA shoulders and it should make grinding that much easier. Plus, I have a rogue that I’ve been using as a bank alt for the longest, and they can share the shoulders if I go Feral (I’ve read that’s the best leveling spec for Druids, right? Either way, I’d like to play a melee class just to change things up.)
You know you have a Faerie Fire (Feral), right? You can use it in bear form and it’ll even do damage.
Feral is very very good for leveling, but you have to be comfortable playing a Warrior or Rogue, as those are what the animal forms mimic. For myself, I could never get into Rogues, but I find the Cat Form to be a hell of a lot of fun, possibly because I have the option of healing or switching to bear or what have you rather than just being a Rogue. I’ve gotten to where I can one-shot enemies a few levels below me with certain crits. It’s a nice feeling being so damn awesome.
From what I understand, Balance is also good for leveling, but you do it as an offense caster, so the usual rules about squishies apply. And you should only level as Restoration if you’re working as a pocket healer for someone.
I’m absolutely loving my Druid. I’ve played a Paladin to 67, a Hunter to 76, a Warrior to 26, but I’m quite certain the Druid will be my first 80. I’m very comfortable playing such an OP badass as my main. Bit of a shame, though, I wish I could have gone with a better name for him…and no, I’m not paying for a name change.
Yay I dinged 50 on my 'lock! It happened at the end of a Warsong Gulch battle too which was quite good timing as I was able to pick up my shiny new Dryad’s Wrist Bindings immediately after and feel like I earned it.
From what I hear, it’s harder than Feral, at least until you can get Moonkin form. (Is that a 41-point talent or a 51?) Which isn’t to say that I’m not leveling my Druid alt as Balance, but…
I think there was a guide linked from WoW Insider a couple of weeks back about leveling Balance–specifically discussing what points to pick up when. This may be it–or there might be something more recent.
I’ve turned to leveling my warlock, since I’m a little stalled with my main. As long as I can keep my warlock away from the mobs, she’s OK, lobbing spells and wand-hits from a distance. She tends to go squish otherwise–like a little bug. I wish my warlock could have heavy armor to protect her, but then she probably couldn’t wave her little arms to cast her spells. Oh, well, I will just keep her way back here where it’s safe.
Last night, for the third time, my 75 rogue joined a Nexus PUG to finally knock out her last couple of quests in there. She’s done Nexus, but did it before she had the quests. And for the THIRD time, the PUG fell apart before we took down any of the bosses I needed.
First a dps dropped out, and a guildie was kind enough to fill in (thanks Flightlessbird!). Then the healer dropped, and while we were looking around for a replacment, the tank bailed. Grrr.
Speaking of Warlocks, I think that’ll be my next toon, maybe when my rogue hits 80. I was saving Stone Keeper Shards for the mount, but maybe I’ll just get the cloth shoulders…
I’d really like a Goblin warlock but I don’t think I can wait that long.
For some reason, the Nexus is a magnet for bad PuGs. Pretty much every PuG from hell I’ve done has been Nexus. (I guess there was that one time in BRD, another instance that takes forever and thus gives people lots of time to drop out, etc.)
The biggest problem with leveling a balance druid is (or was) the lack of itemization for those early levels. Leather gear with +spellpower is scarce until you hit Outland, really. Up to level 45, about the only pieces you’ll find will be crafted pieces from Leatherworking. You could always wear cloth, of course (neither of my druids has ever worn a cloth item…).
With heirloom items, that may not be as big a problem these days, though.
31-point, actually. There are 4 41-point talents, and the 51-point talent is Starfall.
Well this is the last week my play mate of the last 3 years and I will be adventuring in Azeroth together. His account goes into hibernation on Friday.
What to do next? Join a hard core raiding guild? Roll more alts? PvP til my head assplodes? Haha. I really don’t know what I will do with my main. I have other friends in game but it is just not the same.
Anyone else out there ever have this dilemma? IF so how did you deal with it?
Okay, not just for tanks, but you have to admit it flows better this way.
:smack: I meant 31 or 41. I knew it was somewhere in the middle of the tree, not at the top. Thanks!
That blows. I honestly don’t know what I’d do if my pocket healer decided to quit playing. Of course, we always find our friends through the weirdest confluence of coincidences, so even if you don’t have someone to play with now, it won’t necessarily stay that way.
Are there any fresh 80s who seem like good people? You could start helping them along. That’s more or less how I started playing with my friend–as a fresh 70 Prot War with no DPS set at the time, I couldn’t get through the QD dailies very well on my own, so he’d bring me with him on his run. Now we do pretty much everything together: leveling 70-80, making alts, making twinks, even transferring servers to raid. But it all started ‘cause he took pity on poor lil’ ol’ me when I was just a little nubling.
I am highly entertained by the wand-using animation, I will say that. Zap zap! Oh, well, if I want to get up close and personal with the mobs, I’ll play my DK or paladin.
Or, you know, Disc priests. (zap, zap, zap, zap, re-shield, dot, zap, zap, zap etc). If you’re fighting 3 things at once you may have to throw in a heal or two to deal with damage that slipped through while your soul was still weakened.
