Well. Death Knight, aka “easy mode”. (Haven’t tried a noob DK since a few patches ago, maybe it’s not quite so easy as it was once, but, you know.)
Thanks, jayjay!
I just get “caught up short” sometimes, and have a tough time “processing”.
I am sorry to say this, but I just depend on y’all so/too much.
Especially here in this thread and in WoW.
Last night I bowed and saluted an 80, and she asked if I needed help with anything?
So I said “Yeah, with a buncha stuff!”, and she must have stayed with me for an HOUR in Feralas (sp?).
I just finally told her “I can take it from here”, and let her go. When I tried to thank her, I saw I was being ignored.
It just takes too fucking long to explain.
I think I’d just like to take Wolkie and Silka on a nice leisurely walk through Elwynn/Westfall and just help where we can.
Thanks
Quasi
I took my priest to Outland and 58 and it was very difficult. I could handle one mob at a time, but my aggro range and wandering mobs made solo pulls hard to pull off. I died a lot, at least until I had replaced most of my gear with Outland quest rewards and green drops.
On the otherhand, my Rogue absolutely flew through Hellfire Peninsula at 58. Part of it was because of the heirloom swords and armor, but I think it’s just a lot easier for a non-spellcaster to make the transition.
wonder if i could talk mrAru into a road trip to burn up some vacation time in early november … we could have a small gaming dopefest if you got the room for a lan party i have a laptop and can game anywhere there is hi speed connectivity =)
Can we get him up to 58 on cairne? I want to try to play on just one server…hopefully cairne…
Also, when did you go to Outland with your Priest? If it was before the last patch before Wrath of the Lich King, then Outland was significantly harder back then. It got nerfed with the Lich King expansion.
There’s this guy in my guild who isn’t the sharpest tool in the box (1). And he has this friend, who makes Thisguy sound like the gnomish magic-wielding lovechild of Alfred Einstein and Marie Curie.
Thisguy invited Thisfriend to WoW. OK, so they get extra XP for grouping together and stuff. A druid from 0 to 80 and a DK to 80 in a few weeks of summer vacation. Dude has never healed, he tries to heal a heroic HoL as his first heroic (I wasn’t there for that one, just heard about it). He’s never tanked, keeps trying to get people to let him tank, people take one look at his armor and say “no way, get some decent stuff first.” His DK was in the guild, the druid has joined today. I found the time the two of them spent leveling the druid quite restful; we had the DK in a couple Naxx runs and he was so bad we’ve unofficially got him banned from raids (“if we can find more than 20 warm bodies not counting him, he is not coming; if we find less than 20, we’re cancelling anyway”).
We keep having to translate for him such complex thoughts as “anybody want a healer?” (no, he’s not selling one, he’s offering to heal) and “who want come daily tank?” (so the warlock who was asking doesn’t exactly speak Her Majesty’s English, give the Turk a break!). It took two of our officers over one hour to extract exactly what did he mean by “I’ve installed GEM but only half of it works” (the GEM library showed as out of date and he didn’t have “load out of date addons” on).
Dude’s 19 years old… and I think I’m going to /ignore a guildie for the second time ever.
1: one of those tanks I mentioned a while back, who keep losing defcap because they can’t understand that theorycrafters don’t mention it in every post because they take for granted that any tank worth his armor knows that Thee Shalt Be Defcapped is one of the ten commandments (including the list of Talents Used for Defcapping, in the case of four-pawed tanks).
That was definitely easy mode when I did it. If my casters took on an elite their own level, they were probably going to die. The death knight could take on two elites his own level and finish with more than half health.
What was your priest specced?
Mine did it as a shadow priest a couple of months after BC came out. I had to be very careful on pulls, and he did die a couple of times, but it really wasn’t that bad. I don’t know if it makes a difference, but mine was Alliance. By the time he dinged 60, he had pretty much all Outland green gear, so that helped a lot.
It would be easier today, because he’s a night elf, and that recent change to shadowmeld pretty much makes it a get out of jail free card – just like feign death.
Oh, I didn’t realize that. Yes, my priest went through before WotLK.
If Outland has been nerfed, there’s really not much reason not to go at 58.
I’m doing all the Argent Tournament stuff except the jousting for now. I’m also doing the Brunnhildar daily every day in hopes of getting the bear mount. I am trying for a title; the one I want is Ambassador. My hunter is exalted with her home city of Darnassus and with Stormwind, and revered with the three others. I am trying to decide what I want to do to gain rep. I have consulted Wowhead on good places to farm runecloth. Tyr’s Hand was great, with the bonus that it isn’t an instance so the recent problems didn’t keep me out of it. I also went to Blackrock Spire for fun and got even more runecloth than at Tyr’s Hand. The draenei love me more with each day. I think I’ve done everything else I can for them. I seem to have done all the gnome quests, but I still have some things to do for the dwarves, mostly in instances.
I’m reluctant to do non-dungeon quests for rep since I got blasted by a level 8 gnome mage who accused me of griefing and then made fun of me when I said I couldn’t joust. I wasn’t griefing anyone; I chose an area devoid of lowbies so I wouldn’t get in their way or kill things they could level from, and was going to leave if I saw any lowbies while I was there. I never even saw the gnome who griped at me. He or she just whispered at me out of nowhere. It’s possible I simply missed the player, since it was a gnome and my camera distance was out a bit far, but still, I don’t think that unloading on me like that was necessary. I didn’t respond in kind, but put him on /ignore.
Meh. As a lowbie I let high-levels be; they’ll be in and out so fast it won’t matter, and lowbie area monsters respawn quickly anyway. As a high-level, I help out the lowbies however I can, usually with buffs and bandages. The lowbies in Durotar were certainly happy to have a Druid running around buffing everyone a few days ago.
Folks who are going to bitch about a high-level don’t really have a leg to stand on, especially if the high-level is trying to stay out of everyone’s way.
Can you explain how you map stuff onto the mouse buttons? We recently acquired a 5-button mouse that I’m not sure how to adapt to WoW.
In Key Bindings, left-click on the action you want to map, then click the button you want to map the action to. Easy peasy.
Dumb question - does that mapping work just for the character in question, or is it universal?
I have bad notions about mapping to the left two mouse buttons for druid forms, then my shaman dying horribly when she falls off a cliff and keeps trying to switch to flight form…
There’s a checkbox that lets you pick if you want it to be to only that character or to every character on your account.
This reminds me - I was on my bank alt (level 4 warrior) in Org the other day doing the AH thing when a level 71 DK whispered to me “You son of a bitch!” I responded with “?” but he had put me on ignore. WTF? The funny thing is, his name sounded kind of familiar and I think I had been in a Nexus pug with him the other day, with my rogue. But he couldn’t have known it was me, and I can’t think of how the rogue would have pissed him off anyway. Really weird.
Blah, got moved to second shift starting next week. Good thing I didn’t have my hopes set on joining a raid guild or anything with a schedule. What’s Burning Dog Legion like during the morning hours? Anyone on at that time?
I’ve become rather popular in groups, due to my tendency to have one sided conversations with my pet. Picture, if you will, Calvin and Hobbes, from the perspective of a 3rd party in the comic who isn’t in on the conversations. They just hear Calvins side.
“No Murph, the gnome isn’t for eating.”
“I know she looks tasty, but she’s the spiky kind of gnome, not the squishy kind, and you’ll hurt your teeth.”
“Well, they don’t make armored teeth, what can I say. How about we go to gnomeregon after this and you can go hunt?”
Or…
“I don’t know what you’re complaining about, I resurrected you didn’t I?”
“Not that hard? Have you ever once resurrected me? You could at least say thank you.”
Or…
“No Murph, [female druid in kitty form] isn’t interested in mating.”
“And I’m sure she approves of your appraisal, but I’m telling you its not going to happen.”
“No, She definitely won’t ‘loosen up’ if you pet her.”
So i get carried away with my pets… sue me.
I usually talk about the crazy rich Blood Elf I used to date until she burned down my hut in Durotar. And while that didn’t bother me too much the fact that she was dating an Orc just to get at her father really hurt my feelings.
After a recent good run of form I was frustrated last night. I am preparing for taking on Sunken Temple to do the level 50-ish warlock quest (I want this great looking staff: Soul Harvester ) and I was trying to get all the quests which means a run into Zul’Farrak. I had been asking guildies for a couple of weeks who wants a run and last night finally two said yes *plus *I picked up a couple of random warriors using LFM. To make matters better we were all in level range roughly so it wasn’t going to be a run through but a challenge and I was the only caster, loot! So there I am sitting outside the instance waiting for the last party member to finish up in Gadgetzan and my wife mutters the most dreaded words in the English language (at least in our house when I am playing WoW):
“arrrghhhhhhhhh! oh FFS why on this night and not the other night when I spent the evening picking Goldthorn and Kingsblood?” is my inner response.
“Of course, here you are” is my actual response.
Seriously considering giving up on z’f now. I am level 50 a sliver from 51 and I might as well just go straight to ST.
Some good has come from it though, I finally ordered my new gaming only laptop which will allow me to play the game at High detail at last.
