World of Warcraft General Discussion

I rarely use the H’s and the A’s, because I want to make sure y’all know the difference between this: :):D;) and me just really sitting at my keyboard trying very hard not to laugh so hard as to cause me to fart, okay?

So Bossy and jay?

The Hah-Hah’s are totally real, and have I mentioned lately how much in love I am with all of you?

My sweet wife tells me she likes to be reminded every now and then, so why should ones’ friends be any different?

I love y’all!

Am I “The King of Schmaltz”?

Damn right I am!

Some people tell me I look like this ^ guy, and that is the sweetest compliment I have ever been paid.

Thanks for all your help with Wolkie and Silka!

Quasi

Oh! I forgot to add that the reason I chose that song, is because I feel like this is my home and y’all are my (dysfunctional) family!

And of course now there will be a bit of “awkwardness” till someone posts about their Pally or Blood Elf not being able to make it through an instance!

Q

We put the “fun” in dysfunctional!

mrAru just got back into playing, and rolled up a DK tauren on Cairne named Phluphie and I convinced him to take herbalism as one of his skills …

He just sold off his first load of herbs and made over 100 gold … he is pumped.

he is joking that he is now a dealer in herb … herb being his old neighborhoods nickname for happy grass =)

Yes, herb stacks sell very well on Cairne. When I created my rogue I was torn between herbalism/alchemy and skinning/LW – so glad I went with the herbs!

It’s undead water!

Me, I’m a bass player. I put the “funk” in “dysfunktional”
One nice thing about having alt-itis: I can rotate through them, and by the time I get back to a particular toon it has built up a lot of blue on the XP bar. I had so much blue built up on Keliraeda, my belf pally, that she actually leveled three times last night. From 45 to 48, which of course meant two trips to the pally trainer. It helped that I’m also using the TourGuide addon, which is basically a follow-the-instructions leveling guide that results in a lot of XP very quickly. I recommend it to anybody who wants to level an alt quickly.

I’ve recently discovered another cool addon called SilverDragon. What it does is scan your current zone for rare spawns (the ones with a silver dragon around their portraits, hence the addon name). When it detects one, it plays a sound, flashes the edges of your screen in red, and pops up a small frame with the name and picture of the mob in question. You can click on that frame, and if the rare mob is in range it will automatically target it for you. Pretty cool! The only downside is that it doesn’t point you at the mob; you still have to actually find it yourself, which in come cases can be difficult even if the mob is in range. I’ve had it target a couple that I simply could not locate. On the other hand, it detected one as it materialized right if front of me.

This is the downside of focusing hard on my Druid, as I want an 80 ASAP. I don’t get much blue XP. Yeah, in real time I’ll level faster than if I let the blue fill up, but played time takes longer, so I’m having to hunt down more quests and the like.

Bear in mind that the blue double rep only counts for killing mobs. Quest completion experience is not affected by the blue bar so if you’re levelling by questing, you’re not holding yourself back that much (as quests usually give a lot more completion experience than killing the mobs for the quest does).

Right, quest XP just pushes the blue forward without consuming it.

Oh, I know. But blue XP can make a big difference in leveling rate, especially when you’ve got those “kill 20 X” or “Find 9 X which by the way have a stupidly low drop rate” quests.

Just thought I’d mention that the latest Order of the Stick webcomic makes a point relevant to our earlier discussions about armor on females …

(5th panel, specifically)

Ctrl-Alt-Del has a WoW comic up. Too funny!

Asked on WoW but got a flat NO from an 80, even after saluting and bowing. Anyone know of another way?

I’m almost half-way to 48 and would like to reach 50 before HAVING to go on vacation (DAMMIT! ;))

Thanks,

Quasi

From Hillsbrad Foothills (Southshore for Alliance, Tarren Mills for Horde) get into the Hinterlands by finding the path behind Durnholde keep. There are actually two paths back there, one goes to Ravenholt and is near the river. The other is further west and “guarded” by two griffons. Go through there to find the Hinterlands.

Sorry to be so dense, but when you said “guarded by 2 Griffons” I got confused.

Thanks

Q

Are the griffons “unfriendly”, in other words, and should I avoid them?

Thanks

Q

Wild griffons are hostile, so yes, unless you think you can take them based on level, avoid them.

There are griffons in the area of Hinterlands near the Alliance base that aren’t hostile, though…they’re not really wild. The dwarves raise them for flyers.

… In Dunhold Keep. I keep racing arfound in circles trying to get out of there. so I’m just gonna hearth out and start over.

Thanks

Q

Don’t go in the keep, go around it. You know Thoradin’s Wall, that separates Hillsbrad Foothills from Arathi Highlands? You want to run through the grass between the wall and the Keep, and circle around behind the Keep. Before you get too far, you’ll see a couple gryphons flying around near the ground, and that’s where you’ll find a pass through the mountains into Hinterlands.

kk

Will try again.

Thanks Rik
