World of Warcraft General Discussion

Yeah, Quasi, up to level 60, there are new skills availible to learn every other level. After level 60, there are new skills availible every level.

Usually it’s only two or three skills each time, and sometimes they’re for skills you don’t use very often, but it’s a good idea to train every time something is availible.

Grats! Still 7 more teeth to go here. He’s growing up fast!

Oh OK.

There are add-ons (we use Bidder) that allow you to spend less than a minute bidding on a distributing loot. You set up the parameters with your particular DKP rules and it just runs itself for the most part.

You should have stopped after the first seven words because the possibility of drama with loot council is simply higher.

So as long as the DPS is on the right mob, they don’t have to keep an eye on the DPS meter?

Please point to the words where I say it is always the DPS fault when a mob breaks off? By YOUR argument, aside from the gimmicky fights a DPS can just unleash hell and keep on unleashing it and if the tank loses threat then its the tank’s fault, the DPS has no obligation to watch his threat.

No idea what sort of analogy yo are trying to make.

I don’t know what to tell you but until the the beginning of summer (we are overgeared for hodir now so its not a problem) we were hitting the enrage timer because we lost people to Frozen Blows. Maybe you have just had the best luck in healers but I would say that we probably have one weak link in our healing team and even she is fine as long as she only has to main tank heal.

Well I still wear frost resist gear on Hodir because it basically makes me invincible on that fight and it barely affects my healing, the big hit is to mana pool and mana regen and neither of those are a problem on Hodir. DPS may be get more gimped from resist gear I dunno.

BWAH-HA-HA-HA!

Raiding Gear

Why can’t I kill this guy? He’s not a quest, just a dude who appeared out of nowhere.

I know he’s a higher level than me, but I had him down to 1% health and STILL couldn’t put him down!

I stumbled on a guard at the Dark Portal and he was a 57 and I managed to kill him and his dog, so I don’t get it.

Thanks

There -is- a quest for them, if you’d run across the little story line they have out there, it’d explain what the deal is. The Servants are cursed zombies. They cannot be killed directly. Their souls are shackled into a nearby crystal. You have to beat the tar out of them near the crystal to get them weak, then smash the crystal. This will free their spirit and the body will keel over by itself. Any other way and they’re immortal.

Thanks Mekhazzio! I checked him out on WoWHead, but saw he was listed as an NPC, and could be looted, but maybe I didn’t read far enough down.

I’ll avoid him for now!

Thanks

Careful…there are definitely more than one. And there are Servants of other people, too, with the same mechanic. Just keep an eye out in Blasted Lands.

Id just like yto insult the veyr concept of Blood Elf Death Knights. As near as I can tell, they are all cheap-arse bastards trying to stab other people in the back in Venture Bay.

Look, I’m a Hunter. It’s not fair, but any spec I can use outside specialty PvP zones (of which Venture Bay is not nearly PvP-exclusive enough) is a disaster inside a PvP zone. Any melee class in the game can destroy me unless I start acting like a murderous loon and simply hammer the other people down with the one or two viable PvP builds around the instant I see them. So stop stabbing me in the back because I’m there: it’s cheap, assholish, and I WILL grab a nearby palo and stomp your face if you bother me. That second cheap DK toon managed to get away with it because I was done with my quests and jsut wanted to finish quests, but if I ever see another DK in battlegrounds, I will kill them no matter what I costs me.

I will, jay!

God, if I didn’t have this thread for reference I’d still be huntin’ down them "River Paw Mommy-Friggers!

Thanks!

Well, ran Coren Direbrew yesterday and today, and lost rolls on the Kodo, the Remote, and the Tankard. So let’s see… I think that makes me 0 for 7 on mounts, 0 for 3 on remotes, and 0 for 2 on tankards.

I can only hope that my luck is saving up for the Headless Horseman mount.

But for good news, I do have my ravasaur mount and Conqueror’s Cowl of Sanctification. Although I hate the way the Cowl looks on my undead priest… it’s got a collar and medallion-type thing that hangs way out in front of my chest. It looks like I’m walking around with a big drool cup.

Congrats! And please tell me your zombie is one of the one’s without a lower jaw, because I’ve always thought those ones probably NEED a drool cup…

A hunter complaining about getting ganked?

I’ll remember that the next time some friggin’ hunter pet is chasing me around a BG.

“A Ranger caught off his guard?”

Sorry, tacoloco! No offense, please?

That just reminded me of a line in LOTR!

Thanks

Quasi

I suppose this isn’t the place to mention that, when my Hunter was level 56, I owned the shit out of a level 58 DK that was tear-assing around Forest Song?

I just saw the strangest thing in STV … a human pally fighting like a rogue. There he was fighting this Young Stranglethorn Tiger, racing around in tight circles around it. I’m all, “What the hell is he doing?” And yes, I double-checked — it really was a pally.

I somehow accidentally PVPed a little bit ago. I was in the Burning Blade Ruins in Nagrand and was trying to clear out the shamans in the corner near the orc that you have to talk to for a Mag’har quest, and at the same time, two Alliance folks went to him and aggroed the ogres. I tried to join in to help them kill the ogres (carebear that I am) and somehow started hitting one of the Allies. I got PWNED! Both of them came after me once the ogres were dead and killed me.

I’ve never accidentally hit a player toon before. That was weird.
(PvE server, btw, and I definitely hadn’t turned on my PvP.)

They may have turned on theirs. Being PVP flagged doesn’t allow you to attack others, it allows others to attack you. Someone who’s PVP flagged still can’t hurt you, but if you attack them, that flags you, and they can retaliate. Be very wary if you don’t want to PVP and you come across yellow-name players.

Thank you, whoever it was who recommended Overachiever! I was killing the winged serpents in Bladesedge for Serpent Flesh and happened to notice one of the rock giants coming toward me. Other than trying to manipulate the current fight with a serpent over to the side so as not to get the giant as an add, I noticed “Not yet killed” in the tooltip. He was one of the Rare mobs you have to kill to get “Medium Rare”! Killed the serpent, took a pot to top me up on health, and Icy Touched the bastard…got him down and got the achievement. I would have passed him up as uninteresting if dangerous if I hadn’t had the mod. Thank you!

Also, Grachlah hit 70! I’ve gone through and generally abandoned the rest of my open Outland quests (except for the giants…I’m going to finish them up first) and I’m heading to Northrend in a bit.

… I need to delete, right, y’all?

I’m asking because I have the Uldaman Reagent Run still on my list, it’s a 42, but at the time I asked you about it before, I think I remember you telling me I didn’t need to make that run/quest by my/our selves? I was a lower leve then too. Could I get some XP by running it NOW?

Also, we’re still getting our asses kicked on the Schrimrank Reunion (?) In Gaping Chasm) and we’re 52 now!

Thanks!

Quasi/Wolkie and Silka

So I finally hit 60 on my Druid this weekend. I finally get to experience the awesomeness that is Flight Form. Even with mount cast times lowered to 1.5 seconds, being able to jump in the air, tap a button, and instantly take off soaring is just freaking awesome. Being able to manipulate items on the ground in Flight Form is so cool, too; the quest in Hellfire Peninsula where you have to collect the 30 zeppelin parts went by in no time at all. Just swoop down, grab, fly off to the next, with no fighting necessary. I may stay in Outland for as long as I possibly can, rather than running off to Northrend at 68. Northrend just means I lose flight until 77. :frowning:

I also got to heal a couple of instances for the first time since getting dual-spec and Tree Form. The last instance I healed for was Uldaman, and even with my healing ability pushed to OP in Resto spec I still had a Whack-A-Mole workout keeping the PUG alive through Hellfire Ramparts and Blood Furnace. Tank never died except once when we wiped right at the start of Ramparts, but a couple of the DKs managed to get themselves killed despite my best efforts. :smack: Honestly, I have yet to meet a DK played intelligently. I learned a bit more about my healing spec and spent some time tweaking Healbot to give me better info. I tried installing Grid, but it seems like it would take a lot of work to get it to where Healbot is automatically.

You don’t have to delete grey quests. You can still complete them and get the rewards. You just won’t get any XP for them, and the rewards will be way under your level, so it’s usually not worthwhile. You’re probably best off deleting them; if you need to, you can always get them back later.
