World of Warcraft General Discussion

Not to mention (in my case) over 20 mounts and nearly 50 pets.

Well, the way it used to work was your Ulduar Guild would carry you through a Naxx 25 run then you would get all the stuff off the first few Ulduar bosses and you would be up to speed in a cople of months. Now Ulduar guilds will no longer run your through Naxx 25 because you can get the same or better stuff from the badge vendors.

Do Heroics and TOC regular. Do the daily heroic every day. You should have all epics in all your slots in no time and enough conquest badges to buy a few really neat items and enough triumph badges to buy one or two items.

By that point you are ready for Ulduar (well at least they won’t be carrying you) and you are likely to get a lot of drops because basically noone else wants them.

If you hold both mouse buttons down you go forward and you can turn by moving your mouse as well. But most people are just talking about turning.

I know. Very uncool. :frowning:

I can’t wait to get home tonight. One more tooth on the ravasaur! Not that I haven’t enjoyed watching the little guy grow up, but it’s gotten to be pretty tedious hanging around Tanaris and Un’Goro. At least the quests are, if not exactly enjoyable, then not a hassle. Once that’s done, I’ll be able to stay in Outland all the time.

Currently working on my Alliance Pally, though. Almost level 74 and I haven’t even hit Dragonblight yet. I’m being as thorough as I can, having done all of Borean Tundra (soloed Last Rites, ha ha) and working through all of Howling Fjord. I’m tempted to jump ahead to Dragonblight, as I really want to go through the Wrathgate sequence, but I figured I’d squeeze all I could out of the starter zones. The one bad thing about doing so, though…Blizzard clearly expects players to only go through one zone. I’ve seen so much random ilevel 138 crap I’m choking on it. Give me upgrades, dangit!

Been using Hand of Reckoning for a few months now for my Ret Pally; it sure speeds things up a bit when soloing. Depending on whether my Exorcism is an instant cast or not, I usually go:

(No instant Exo): HoR, Judgement, Crusader Strike, Exorcism, and then FCFS (First Come, First Serve) after the cooldowns until Hammer of Wrath lights up, and then “Say Goodnight Gracie”. Usually can pull a crit on the first Judgement and CS to make the Exorcism instant cast for the rest of the Melee, but if I’m on a hot streak with Art of War buffed up:

(With instant Exo): HoR, Exo, Judgement, CS, then FCFS until HoW lights up. This is a great lineup because the AoE is in line with the distance of the approaching mob; sometimes critting will take them out before they get a chance to swing!
Elitist Jerks kind of studied this Clash resolution in depth to yield max DPS in multiple mob situations. I try to follow it, but I start spazzing out after 10 seconds and end up with FCFS button mashing.

On another note, I made a deal with Yeti Jr. He was jonesing for 1400 gold to get epic flying for Sinjara, so I gave it to him in exchange that he would do 14 days worth of grinding for me:

  1. Sons of Hodir dailies.
  2. Heroic dailies at Violet Hold.
  3. Fishing and Cooking dailies.
  4. BG daily (until he gets the win).
  5. Argent Tournament dailies.

I think I got a good deal on this if he actually follows through with this. So, when you see Yeticalayla on there, it just might be Yeti Jr. (usually earlier in the day and evening), I’m usually on later at night or early Sat & Sun.

WoW! YETI! “The family that plays together?..”

When I first started playing, I created a toon for my grandson Julian named THUNDORRE (“Thunder”), but since this all this crap going on with his “Opa”, we haven’t seen each other and I sure do miss the little feller.

Now that we have a little more “gas money” (THANKS, Y’ALL!), me and D are gonna go for a visit.

We have 2 grandchildren, but the re-married parents won’t let us see the first one (Amber). Some Supreme Court ruling…:frowning:

I was using this method when I first started playing but found that not being able to run backwards was tricky. I am a keyboard user, WASD for movement then with main abilities on the Q, E, R, F and C keys with others on 1, 2, 3, 4 plus combinations of ctrl and alt. I spend a few minutes very day playing with my key bindings in Excel which is damn frustrating when you can’t juts log on and try it out until you go home.

Absolutely right as I found last night, height doesn’t make a difference however remembering to turn on ‘Find Minerals’ does :smack:

There are two questlines to rescue her, one started by Magni and one by Thrall. And yes, Thrall wants you to rescue her, not just kill the emperor; he means it as a peace offering to Magni.

I finally got the True-Aim Long Rifle, as well as new shoulders in the same run. I also picked up a set of heirloom shoulders for my paladin to wear. I’ve been trying to figure out whether I should trade in her weapon, which is Verigan’s Fist, for something new now that she’s hit 40. There’s a nice two-handed axe I read about on Wowhead, but first I need to train her in axes and find that axe in the actual game.

I see how that could be a pain, but if you happen to have a high-level enchanter, it’s glorious.

Oh, yes.

Also, as a plate-wearer, I didn’t notice THAT much overlap among them; I think there was pretty much only one healer plate, one dps plate, and one tank plate item for each slot between the two zones.

Verigan’s Fist is a great weapon (much better than the Horde equivalent) but by 40 you should be able to do better.

There’s no need to “pretrain” weapons, if you ever find a purdy weapon she hasn’t used before she’ll be up to speed in a short time. It’s the last 5 points that are hard, not the first 400…

I am now one of those annoying people who says “can I need for my off spec?” Got a nice ring for my tank set from ToC because the tank already had one. Also hit Exalted with the Oracles; I think I’ll go for Sholazar Mercenary once I replace my tank-spec shoulders, which are currently Oracles gear, as the Frenzyheart trinky actually looks like it could be semi-useful. Also, a chance to squash some frogs.

That reminds me, I took Kene and his War Mace of Unrequited Love down to Crystalsong Forest and started whacking one of those tree-spirit guys. He was the perfect target, because neither of us could melee for much damage but both of us kept casting HoTs on ourselves. So I stood there whacking on him for 15-20 minutes and neither of us were below 90% health, and I got my mace skill up to 400. Now I just need to pick up a cheap dagger and staff and do the same thing.

Even when those were still items and not spells, I always kept 'em in my other bags (and the bank). So the backpack itself is clear of… erm… “leavings.”

Hey Damuri, are you familiar with the multiquote feature? It’s a handy way to reply to multiple posts with just one. On every post, there’s a button (to the right of Quote) with a + on it. (On mouseover, the alt text says “Multi-Quote This Message.”) Click that, and the button will turn red, indicating that the post has been tagged. (You can click it again to un-tag it.) When you’re done tagging posts, hit the Quote button on the last one, and it will pull all the posts you’ve tagged into one reply window.

You know, you **could **just skip the lower-level stuff for now and come back to it once you’ve hit 80.

Aha! Further proof of my theory that the real reason people have kids is to have someone else to do the chores.

You need to run backwards a lot? On the occasions where I need to do it, I just drop my left hand down to WASD for a second, or sometimes use the down arrow.

You sound like me, except I’ll accidentally leave my “Find Fish” on instead of “Find Herbs.”

:Cues “The More You Know”:

No you’re not, since you’re making sure the main-spec people don’t need it first. Rest easy.

I’m personally annoyed by them even if they DO avoid stepping on main-spec people’s toes, because they deny me opportunities to Greed for disenchant fodder. Nyah.

Tsh, you could be the nice chanter who collects all the items people can’t use and then has everybody /roll for end loot, you know.

I do that for guild runs, where I can be reasonably assured that everyone will go along with “everyone, please need what you need and pass the rest. I’ll greed everything and disenchant and we can /roll at the end”. PuGs, not so much.
