Quasi, you probably shouldn’t plan to head too far into Outlands until you’re 58 unless you just want to look around. And it’s a great view when you first go through the portal, so sneaking in and taking a look around if you’re in the area anyway could be fun. But there aren’t any quests you can do and little you could kill until 58.
So is anyone besides me following the little tidbits they’re releasing on Cataclysm? I’ve been hitting MMO-Champion every morning for news. They’re mostly talking about Icecrown Citadel right now, but and patch 3.3. Personally, I’ve already got my name picked out and reserved for my troll druid on Blackhand. I know it’s probably still at least 6 months away, but I’m really looking forward to more exploring and questing in a reimagined Azeroth.
Instead of trying to ride through everything, try slowing down and pull one thing at a time to clear a path. If you find the creatures are too difficult to do so, then you may not be able to handle whatever’s on the other side that you’re trying to get to. That said, there is another path to Western Plaguelands, from the Hinterlands; if you go to Aerie Peak in the Hinterlands and head east along the mountains, you’ll find a path leading up and through to Western Plaguelands, near Scholomance.
Regarding Outland and the Dark Portal, if you’re having difficulty with the Plaguelands, I would not recommend going to Outland. It’s generally advisable to wait until level 58 before venturing through. If you’re looking for new scenery, you could try Felwood, Winterspring, Un’Goro Crater or Silithus (if you haven’t been there yet).
My guess is the casters, the way skeleton models cast, if they’re standing next to each other, it probably looks like they’re linking arms. Either that or Quasi is just being poetic about the experience.
Words is correct, though I didn’t know what those guys were called, and it was only afterward that I convinced myself they had linked arms, so sorry for the misconception there, Rik.
Did I also remember to mention that as they lined up beside each other they did a can-can to La Cucaracha?:D:D:D
I have griped much in the past about my frustrations with playing a mage and trying not to get killed, so I wanted to mention that I’ve been enjoying my mage a whole lot more now that she’s past level 30 (my draenei fire mage on Lightbringer, that is; Wossname, my undead frost mage in the BDL is still only around lvl 22-24).
Survivability has gone way up, largely because of Mana Shield and now Ice Armor, but also because I’ve finally got a decent spell rotation (thanks to some suggestions here). My normal rotation opens with Pyroblast, followed immediately by Fireball, and then, depending on how many HP the mob has left, more Fireballs as needed or Scorch if the HP are very low. Sometimes I finish with Fire Blast if appropriate. And I’m handling getting ganged up on much better
Been watching some fun WoW videos lately. Most of you have probably seen these, but I thought I’d share anyway:
Nothing like blowing all your money on a big purchase. As soon as I hit 4000 gold (and change), I swung by Honor Hold and bought Epic Flying. …And then realized I was short just a few gold for the actual mount. So I ducked into Hellfire Citadel: Ramparts, and let me tell you, that place is pretty profitable when you don’t have to split 5 ways. I earned about 55 gold in one run between dropped silver and vendored loot with the added enjoyment of watching the mobs attack me with less force than a stiff breeze.
Dual-Spec, Cold Weather Flying, and Epic Flying…those are the big-ticket “necessities”, and I’ve got them all on my Pally. I feel pretty proud of myself; he’s not even 80 yet, still just 78. Any more gold earned is just gravy.
