World of Warcraft General Discussion

Alternately, players have to remember that a ‘blended’ color (non-primary color) gem counts as one each of the colors it’s made by. An orange gem counts as one red and one yellow gem, a green gem counts as one yellow and one blue gem, and a purple gem counts as one red and one blue gem.

blinks Hunters hasn’t gotten 2 ap from agility since pre-tbc, 195 agility is only 195 ap.

Assuming you can solve the meta activation issue, Chaotic Skyflare Diamond is better for paladins since it grants more crit and unlike agility, crit rating also affect spell crit.

The poor old-schoolers, still trapped in the past. Interestingly, according to the Wiki, Cataclysm will be bringing it back to 1 Agi = 2 AP. Most likely they wanted Hunters to not neglect Intellect and Stamina in their builds, hence the 1:1 for Agility and the talents for Int and Stam. But I know Blizzard’s wanted to get rid of mana for Hunters because it doesn’t fully make sense, and if that goes, then the need for Intellect goes.

The first time I saw that, I was thinking, “Where have I heard this before?”, then finally realized it was Weird Al’s “Horoscope

Now that was cute

:o Of course you are correct. And I didn’t even play pre-TBC…

I got screwed up by my understanding that 1 AGI is generally worth 2 (or more) points in AP on gear. In fact, for my current gear 1 AGI is worth almost 3 AP. This become important when considering what gems/enchants/gear upgrades to select.

Of course, part of this is because of Blessing of Kings, which makes the argument a bit circular.

Just to confirm my impression on pally buffs I put my current settings in the hunter DPS sheet with no Pally buffs. The simulated DPS was 5875.71. Adding Improved BoK added 348 DPS. Adding Imroved BoM added 345 DPS… Adding both adds 630 DPS.

So, turns out they are about the same damage-wise. Ignorance (on my end) fought. Sorry for the misinformation!

IIRC, the reasoning behind the change back then was that hunter itemization was dull(ie agility>all) and they wanted to give hunters a reason to use other stats(ie AP).

Of course, in Cataclysm they’re doing a 180 and are removing a whole bunch of stats instead, making it so that all classes will consider the base stats to be the most important.

On the other hand, with equal damage bonuses you might as well go for the slight edge in survivability you get from BoK.

Geez, trying to do the “Put out the Fires” daily is just pathetic. Craploads of people in Goldshire just standing around doing nothing while the remaining handful of people run around frantically trying to douse the fires. Then there are the people who’d rather duel each other in the middle of the HH’s attack. I think half those people are just waiting to grab the prize after everybody else has done the work.

Yeah, “Put Out the Fires” was a lot easier when the Magic Broom had an instant cast time. And as the holiday goes on, fewer people will bother to try to help.

Other than the HH, and I’ve only done that once so far, I’m skipping Halloween this year. At this rate I’ll never get the Long Strange Trip achievement. :stuck_out_tongue: Besides being preoccupied with level 80 stuff, it’s just not interesting me the way Brewfest did, and some of the achievements don’t look like much fun to get.

I’m having trouble with the fact that nobody wants to team up. You move better than twice as fast with 2 people working together. I yell and yell to work together, but nothing happens until I whisper someone to hang out by the fire, and then I just feed them buckets.

Some days, it really does feel like the #1 life lesson of WoW is, “God damn, some people are really fucking retarded.”

It’s just like life, but with bigger boobs and pointier ears.

I’ve also found that no one wants to help put out fires, but they all want to go to Southshore and smack people around. There wasn’t a lot of cleaning up going on when I went there, because everyone was too busy attacking flagged people. My belf warlock utterly failed to save Razor Hill from the fires, but that’s because I didn’t know there was a method other than random bucketing of buildings, and because I was the only one trying to do it.

Play City of Heroes for a month, I guarantee you won’t even notice WoW boobs after that. Other than, you know, the dummies.

Oh snap. The Titansteel Destroyer may have more Strength, but that looks badass. I’m still a few days out from being able to purchase it, sadly, but the money I don’t spend on that can go to the rest of my gear.

They are, I just ran into it in Blood Elf babyland

I had 2 other people with me trying to put the fires out while 5 people sat on various mounts watching

Boss, I can craft a Titansteel Destroyer for you for cheap or for a trade, I have the Titansteel and Saronite bars; I just need you to get a hold of two frozen orbs.

As for gemming for pally dps, always go with the +20 STR gems, only exception is for making your meta requirements.

I appreciate it, but this is an Ally character on Cenarius, not Cairne. Unless you do have a Blacksmith on Cenarius, that is.

I know Boss doesn’t need it in Cairne, but I’ve got at least 10 frozen orbs if you ever need one for you or someone else in the guild.

With Kings, the Relentless scales to .44% crit, which is only .02% less than the Chaotic. The real point of Relentless, however, is that it requires 1 red, 1 yellow, and 1 blue to activate, which means a single prismatic can cover it. Chaotic, unfortunately, requires 2 blues, which isn’t the best gem choice for plate DPS, who should be gemming pure strength.
