Jesus freaking Christ I freaking hate PvP! Goddamn N.E.R.D. Rage…I need to find somewhere to hide out where I won’t be dead in literally 5 seconds because I’m being attacked and can’t even find the goddamn Hordie that’s attacking me…
How do I get this frickin PUMPKIN off my head???
:D:D:D
**“Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Private Pyle I’m gonna give you three seconds; exactly three-fucking-seconds to wipe that stupid looking grin off your face or I will gouge out your eyeballs and skull-fuck you! ONE! TWO! THREE!”
**
Also could you get 'em to take the pumpkin off, John Wayne?
Q
If you get pumpkin-headed, just right-click the little pumpkin icon that should be up by your health and rage bars. That will give you back your head.
Dammit, I keep forgetting! It’s not always about the BDL!
Sorry, just reveling in my new 80ness.
Like I said, if you can solve the meta activation issue, Chaotic Skyflare is better. Mainly becasue it also affect spell crit.
Well, my account is set to renew in 3 days and I turned it off. I might come back in Cata, but who knows.
I hit 80 with my second char a few weeks back, and joined a guild doing pre-raid stuff (and a few incursions into Naxx and OS) but mostly heroic farming. I realised I just don’t care much for the whole raiding (and nerdrage that comes from PUG raiding) and thats all of end game content. I’m not much for PVP though I did enjoy Wintergrasp quite a bit.
I also don’t want to level yet another char. I have two 80s (druid, DK), 3 level 60 somethings (2 hunters - different servers, and 1 warlock) and a handful of other 20-35ish chars. I thought about getting heirloom items, but even doing the same old grind with 20% more exp isn’t that appealing.
Also, my wife doesn’t like me playing, and I got the ultimatum to quit wow or quit gamefly. So one game or multiple. I’m going with multiple.
There are two BElf Commoners standing outside the Horde inn in Dalaran, wearing Draenei masks, and one says, “Gaze upon my crazy tentacle-face and despair, Azerothian!”
Woohoo! Two more server-first kills: Jaraxxus and Faction Champs on 25-Heroic, and I was in on both of 'em this time! (MT for Jar and damage sponge/interrupter/stunner for FC.) I got some sexy, sexy, sexy pants off of Jar, too, which now put me only about 1500 HP from 40k unbuffed. Fury of War is now three bosses ahead of anybody else on BT, and this pushes us up into the top 3,000 guilds worldwide and close to the top 1,000 U.S. All this since FoW started as a reroll guild on July 10…
Can’t get there from work–what’s the item?
Nitpick: buff icons are **by your minimap **(towards the right side) on the default UI, not by your portrait (which has your health and rage bars).
This works for removing any costume or other buff–just right-click it, and it will go away.
Makes sense to me. … Or you could try and drag the woman into playing with you!
Mmmmn, 300% invite-a-friend XP bonus…
The Dire Maul East alt run was fun; we wound up doing it semi-backward when the tank accidentally jumped down into the lower level, so we killed the satyrs first and then ran back upstairs, killed the rest of the trees, and followed the imp back downstairs and killed him for the key. No wipes, though the healer got killed a couple times. Rillian was complaining about being stunned a lot.
You forgot about the part where we exited the instance right at the place to pick up the quest to kill that imp that we had just finished killing :smack:
I thought we did well - considering that we’re doing these instances at-level, we moved through it pretty quickly even having to backtrack with the imp. The stunning was frustrating because I couldn’t attack, but I don’t think it slowed us down too much.
What is up with all the bosses in DM East only dropping greens? I think only one blue item dropped all night, and it was a blue BoE cloth footpiece that fell of the first mob we killed.
There was also a lot more AoE damage than we’ve run into before, even among the trash. I was eating a lot more damage than I’m used to.
Claymore of the Prophet, from the Argent Tournament. I’m due to hit Champion rank today too, so I should have it by this weekend.
My understanding is only Exorcism uses spell crit, which is a pretty minimal percentage of Ret DPS to be concerned about the stat. I believe the other Ret abilities fire off physical crit (check your Dr. Damage tooltips for crit % on your abilities, and notice they match your melee crit). With Kings, the metas and their respective activation gems give:
Chaotic: .46% crit
Sovereign Dreadstone: 11 Strength (22 AP)
Nightmare Tear: 11 Strength (22 AP), 11 Agility (~.22% crit)
Total DPS stat gain: 44 AP, .68% crit
Relentless: .44% crit
Bold Cardinal Ruby: 22 Strength (44 AP)
Nightmare Tear: 11 Strength (22 AP), 11 Agility (~.22% crit)
Total DPS stat gain: 66 AP, .66% crit
If you asked me to choose .02% physical crit, .46% spell crit, or 22 AP, I’d take the AP. Every relatively current (includes Prismatic gems) online reference I’ve found also indicates the Relentless is a better choice for Ret for overall DPS. Cite 1, Cite 2, Cite 3, Cite 4. You could also check out utilities such as Rawr, which indicates the Relentless, or look up Ret Pallies from your server’s top guilds. Yes, it’s min-maxing, but in a raid guild situation, you’re expected to min-max.
Oh, yeah. No wonder the stats looked familiar - Muz used to have two of the Horde equivalent (Sindorei Warblade) (one with a dps death knight rune, one with a tanking rune), though the DPS has been replaced with an axe dropped in H ToC. You’re not going to find an upgrade anywhere short of H ToC, I think. Maybe regular ToC.
Oh, which reminds me: something I’d like: a portable Runeforge. I might actually use some of the other runes if I didn’t have to run back to Icecrown or E. Plaguelands to change them.
And for something like gems that don’t appear on the character model, it’s hardly worth concerning over anyway. I’d go with a slightly worse weapon if the upgrade was aesthetically crap, but stuff like gems and jewelry are all about numbers.
Ooh yes, very nice! I’d forgotten about the AT reward items (I’d unfortunately outgeared them before they were available). Rep rewards really are a great way to start gearing up.
Oh, and Tom Scud, I think having to hearth or fly back from a location you have a portal to is a small price to pay for a free weapon chant, especially given the incredibly high cost of mats for the top-end ones, which DK runes are generally equivalent to.
Once again, I included a qualifier in my first post on the subject that there is a meta activation issue with the Chaotic gem that needs to be solved.
So, yes, the Relentless meta may very well be the best gem when you take everthing into consideration, but that doesn’t change the fact that 21 crit rating is better than 21 agility and therefore one should not ignore the existence of the Chaotic meta.
